Vintage T-Shirt Lifehack

You all know I love a good vintage look – something that’s a little retro, but that I can still put a modern twist on it. You also know that I often like the opportunity to be thrifty with my fashion and am not afraid to mix the occasional designer piece with my high street wardrobe; most of which is full of bargains! So, when the lovely people over at Nectar* set me the challenge of making a brand new t-shirt feel vintage in just 3 days, I couldn’t resist trying it for myself!

There’s nothing like the feel of a soft, favourite T-shirt; a well worn top can feel like home as you snuggle into it. However, you guys know I just LOVE new clothes too, and so this savvy fashion challenge as part of #NectarLifestyle seemed like a great opportunity to see whether I could combine the two.

If you would like to try out this challenge for yourself, all you will need is:

• A new(ish) t-shirt – or I guess any item of clothing will do!
• Some table salt
• A bucket or container

All you need to do is soak a t-shirt in a salt-water solution for 3 days then wash like normal. Fill the container about half way with water and add a 1/2 cup of salt before popping in your tee. It’s pretty easy!

I thought it was a pretty cool idea to try out a lifehack for myself, to see if these type of things really work.
