Hey kittens, hope your’e all okay! Today’s blog post is pretty exciting for me. As a huge Primark fan (check out my last Primark haul video here) I so intruiged to be invited along to the launch of a new beauty salon opening on the shop floor of Primark in Manchester city centre. A shop floor salon? Different! So, I couldn’t wait to pop along on their opening day a couple of weeks ago to find out more…

The salon itself is located on the 1st floor, next to the Costa Coffee which is also now in Primark Manchester and near the women’s shoe section. I thought it would be in a closed room, but nope, it’s wide open. I thought I wouldn’t like that, but to be honest, once you get used to the idea it’s really fine. I don’t mind other people watching when I get my brows done in Benefit at Debenhams, so this is no different really, aside from the fact Primark is usually a little busier!

I was kindly invited to try a couple of treatments, so I opted for a luxury gel manicure and an eyebrow tint and thread. I started with my nails and was taken over to one of the nail stations (there are a couple of long rows, so I can see it getting pretty busy!) by a very friendly beauty therapist – who coincidentally told me that not only was this the first day of the Primark store opening, but this was her first day working EVER. 

For a gel manicure, the treatment was over pretty quickly – probably the speediest gel manicure I’ve ever had, which I guess is the nature of Love Beauty in Primark. I chose the colour black (so adventurous!) and the finished result is shown above – super shiny nails that lasted for 3 weeks with no chips. I was very impressed, especially as these gel polishes were by a new nail brand I had never heard of before which didn’t include a base or top coat. The polish applied straight to my natural nails and in between two coats cured with a UV lamp, I was good to go!

Unfortunately as the store was about to close, I was in a little bit of a rush when having my brows done so didn’t take any pictures, but I have to say I was so highly impressed with the treatment. The brow expert was lovely and listened to me completely when I told her exactly how I wanted my brows (y’all know they’re my babies). Firstly, she tinted them for me – black, as I requested and she left them just the right time to get them really dark, which I appreciated as often I am told to go for brown – before moving on to the threading. As I usually get my brows waxed, I wasn’t sure what to expect with threading; not gonna lie, it hurt. However, I was SO impressed with the results that I will 100% be returning as a paying customer. For £5 for a thread, where not one hair was out of place and my natural shape and preference for thicker, arched brows was listened to, I was so impressed. It is always SO risky getting your brows done at a new place for a first time – who else get’s the ‘thin eyebrow’ fear? – but for me the risk paid off and 5 weeks later my brows are STILl in the perfect shape! Unheard of!

So kittens, I really hope this gives you a positive impressed of Love Beauty in Primark and reassures you to give them a try if you’ve seen them in store and haven’t yet taken the plunge. Getting beauty treatments done on the shop floor might seem daunting, but it’s really not that bad and to be fair, is a little sheltered once you’re actually in the midst of things. All of Love Beauty’s prices are highly affordable – I mean, they have to be in Primark, right? – and super speedy. I wasn’t sure how long results would last considering how quickly the treatments were done, but they surpassed expectations and I am already planning my next visit.
