Chapel Holistics in Cheadle Hulme

Hey kittens! Fancy a spot of pre-Christmas party pampering? Well have I got the place for you! If you live in Manchester, you may be familiar with Chapel Holistics. It’s a beauty salon in Cheadle Hulme and this week saw the move of it to a brand new location in central Cheadle Hulme presinct. With free car parking and a short drive away from my home, it was a no brainer that I would attend their opening launch party on 2nd December.
Walking the steps up to the salon I wasn’t sure what to expect (the entrance is in a busy precinct after all) but as soon as I stepped foot in the salon I felt relaxed. Everything looked and smelt brand new – probably because it is, having only moved in the days before – and the atmosphere was instantly calming. In a haven of neutral colours, water walls and attention to detail, you would never have guessed you were a couple of steps up from a busy row of shops.

After a quick look around, I was swept off to try my first treatment, a manicure by Pinky’s nails. I went for a festive red colour by OPI, which is a classic nail choice for me. Throughout the manicure, my nail therapist, Michaela, was nothing but friendly and professional. Sometimes a manicure can come with an awkward chat and broken silence, but at Chapel Holistics I was welcomed and chatted to openly, whilst enjoying one of the best manicures I have ever had.
Michaela’s attention to detail was second to none – she advised me on my nail care (must use a base coat!) and was a perfectionist when listening to my desire for square filed nails. Not a flick of nail polish was out of place and I can’t stop staring at my nails.

After enjoying a mince pie and Prosecco with my manicure, I was whisked off to one of Chapel Holistic’s treatment rooms to try a sample facial with Joanne. Facials are something I wish I could have more often – whilst I can slap on a paint of nail polish myself, I can’t give myself a facial and unlike some beauty treatments I feel they have a real benefit to your skin as well as giving the ‘relax factor’.

On offer was a 15 min taster session of the Hydradermie 2 The Star Treatment facial. I’ve never tried one of these before, but essentially it uses electrical pulses to encourage your skin to drink up the products used on it. This is honestly one of the best facials I have ever had. It was so relaxing and right away my skin look brightened;  the day after I didn’t even feel the need to wear any foundation. To be honest, I would love to get in the habit of having this once a month as recommended, but at £49 for a full 1 hour 15min treatment it is a little out of my budget at the mo!

Over all, I had a wonderful time visiting Chapel Holitistics and I came away feeling refreshed after only spending an hour there. It is a wonderfully relaxing environment with welcoming staff who are eduated on their treatments – sad to say, but this seems to be rare nowadays – and owner Carmen is thoroughly enthusiastic about her service. Although more expensive than my usual quick fix beauty retreats, I think the price is worth it and I will be booking myself in here again for a special occassion.
