Happy Friday, kittens! We’ve made it through our first full work week after the bank holiday and phew, I didn’t think we were gonna make it at times but we pulled through. Today I’m posting the first of my transitional Outfit of the Days for the month of September, hope ya like it!
I’m still in disbelief at the amount of sun Manchester has had this year and as we move into Autumn, good ole’ Mancunia isn’t giving into the rain yet. In fact, I’m still pretty much in summer clothes (well, jeans and blouse without a coat, not crop tops and short shorts!) which is so unusual for any time of year up North. This has let me be rather more creative with my transitional looks, making this gorgeous aztec print dress an ideal choice for warm September nights.
This dress itself was a bargainous find from Dainty Dolls, an unusual online shop that operates through Facebook and Twitter sales – unusual, but I wouldn’t be surprised if selling through social media was the way that online shopping will progress in the future. Aztec has always been an iffy trend with me; I’m not a huge fan of it but when the print is slightly different (such as in my monochrome aztec blazer look) I give rocking it a good go. Personally, I love the bright, warm tones of this dress and the chiffon fabric is so comfortable to wear, if a little sheer. To combat this, I popped on a black bodysuit underneath and was pleasantly surprised at the shadows it created.
As the dress has such warm tones, it made sense to accessorise the look with gold hardware to continue the Autumnal colours. My aztec necklace from Mille ‘n’ Mae was an obvious choice! I’m not sure if I’ve worn this before on the blog but I find myself wearing it almost every day for work – I love the way it looks both on a low cut top and underneath a shirt collar buttoned up. The triangles also remind me of bunting, appealing to my love for all things vintage.
To cinch myself in at the waist (y’all know I need a little squeezing in sometimes!) I wore my tiger head belt from OASAP. A little black is always flattering around the waist and went well with my black bodysuit and the black aztec print on the dress. Similarly, I wore my black sandal heels from Desire Clothing – I love the symmetry the bands on the sandals add to the belt and the patterns on the dress. These shoes really are so elegant they could pretty much go with anything.
Finally, I added my new Hendrix clutch bag from Marc B. A new style just this week now out to buy, Marc B are selling this in their Topshop concessions and online. Mine is in Rouge and is a lovely wine red colour, conveniently my colour of choice for my lips and nails! Aside from the design itself, I love how all Marc B bags come with my first love inside them – leopard print!
