Hey kittens, got another little event post for y’all and this one is about my little visit to the Pretty Little Thing blogger event (so many little’s in one sentence!).
The other week I was invited to Rosso Restaurant, one of the celeb hotspots of Manchester no less, to view the new Pretty Little Thing collection. If y’all haven’t heard of Pretty Little Thing before I don’t blame you, as I only heard about them a year or so ago and haven’t actually bought from them before. Interestingly, they’re a smaller sister company to the huge online store Boohoo and, conveniently part own Rosso, I believe. Of course, I love a local brand and these are all Mancunion companies – fab!
Now I gotta be honest with you and say there’s not much of the event – or collection – itself I can actually comment on. Unfortunately, the event started at 3pm and as y’all know, I’m a strong-independent-woman-who-don’t-need-no-man who works full time and the very earliest – after literally legging it halfway across Manchester in heels and a fur coat – I could get there for was after 6pm. This is usually the start time for most events I attend, but sadly the event was basically over by the time I got there. Hmph, I missed out!
From what the other lovely bloggers told me, apparently the event had been amazing and that makes it even more disappointing that I had to miss it. Rosso had provided the bloggers with a choice of late lunch menu and whilst dining, talked them through their latest collections; it sounded lovely! Although I told PLT I wouldn’t be there until later, they told me the event would be going on til 8ish, but by the time I got there all the clothes had been put away. Essentially, I had unknowingly turned up just for the free booze (which there was a lot of, by the way) but hey, I’m not complaining. Yet, it does make me wonder whether this brand is just aimed at students who are able to take days off school/college for events – this would definitely explain it’s affordable price range and mixing of trends, I could see it being hugely popular with school, college and even uni students.
Anyway, even though most bloggers had already started to leave by the time I got there, I had a lovely time! There was more red wine, white wine, prosecco and, ahem, shots that you could imagine. Even one of the MDs of PLT, Adam Kamini, tricked me into doing sambuca shots! All the staff, including Adam, seemed lovely and helpful and I was made to feel very welcome. Even though I might have missed the collection, I had a fab time girly gossiping over drinks about clothes, shoes and all things PLT.
So kittens, because I wasn’t able to view any of the new collection myself, Pretty Little Thing have let me use their official photos to show you the collection. What dya think? Each blogger was also gifted an item each for attending and unfortunately my correct item wasn’t at the event, but I am told I should receive it in the post soon. Keep your eyes peeled for an Outfit of the Day about PLT, hopefully coming very soon. I can’t wait!
As y’all can see from the photos, Pretty Little Thing seem to have taken note of every high street trend going at the min – count the neons, pastels, sports luxe and slogan tees amongst them. Although not a fan of neon myself, these seemed very popular with the other girls and a lazer-cut out neon clutch bag seemed like a firm fave – Adam even told me this item sold out online within a day!
After being shown some further photos by the photographer at the event and some other bloggers, there are definitely a few items that sparked my interested; a particular forest print chiffon blouse has stuck in my memory ever since and I find myself checking the online store regularly to see when it’ll go live. Alas, not yet!
Speaking of the online store, there are definitely a couple of items on there that take my fancy. Once you sift through the crop tops and super flouro garments – which are undisputedly popular at the mo but y’all know are not my style at all – there are definitely a couple of gems. I’ve got my paws hovering over the Denim Skater Skirt, Studded Cowboy boots and Embellished Blouse. I also think it’s worth noting how affordable the items are, yet how good quality they seem to be – definitely a positive tick in PLT’s direction and one I look forward to backing up when I grab my item in the near future.
So kittens, have you heard of Pretty Little Thing Before? What do you think of their online store? Leave me a comment below and let me know! And don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, like my Facebook page and subscribe to my Youtube channel to keep up to date with all things fashion!
