Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen

Before the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen, I had never really felt brave enough to try out coloured eyeliners. It all seemed a little too ‘out there’ for me. As someone who relies on black winged eyeliner to complete her make-up, the thought of using bright colours to line her eyes seemed a bit much. However, after meeting with Amanda, the head make-up artist of Pixi Beauty, she told me that coloured eyeliner doesn’t have to be scary and instead you can work up to it slowly by using a bit at a time… So here goes.

Amanda gave me two of her favourite and most ‘wearable’ colours of eyeliner to use, a bright blue and purple. The Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Cobalt Blue is a beautiful Royal blue colour and on trying it out the pencil is beautifully soft. When swatching it, the colour comes out exactly how you would expect, which shows how extremely pigmented it is. Amanda advised started with this lining under the eye first, then over my usual winged eyeliner and finally building up to all-over colour.

Similarly, The Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Violet is the most beautiful purple colour which exactly mirrors the packaging. I have used this colour a couple of times since meeting with Amanda, occasionally using it to add colour under my bottom lashes when wearing my usual black liquid liner over my eyelid. Surprisingly, once blended it looks lovely and subtle and really helps to open up the eye. I’m pretty proud of myself for giving it a go and it just shows how you can make pretty much any colour work if you use it correctly.

To conclude, the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen colours are not what I would usually pick, but when pushed to try something new, it definitely pays off. I particularly love the Violet colour and would now be open to trying a deep green perhaps (Pixi’s Sage Gold colour looks like it would work beautifully with brown eyes). If you are looking for cruelty free products, definitely give Pixi a go; the quality is fantastic and all but two of their make-up products are vegan.
