Quirky Stocking Filler Ideas

Christmas gift buying can sometimes get you stumped. What do you buy for the person that has EVERYTHING? The struggle is real. There’s only so many bath bomb sets and chocolate box selections you can give someone, so as part of my Blogmas series, today’s post aims to give you a little inspiration for him or her when you’re stuck for ideas. All of these quirky stocking filler ideas are from IWOOT (which stands for I Want One of Those) and the shop name is pretty appropriate!

IWOOT is full to the brim with crazy gifts that you would never even usually think of; perfect as little extras or stocking fillers. One – actually, two – of my favourite items from them at the moment are these funny little animal side plates from Wild Dining. I have the Wild Dining Baby Deer Ceramic Side Plate* (left) and the Wild Dining Seal Cub Ceramic Side Plate* (right). There’s not much I love more than an animal in clothes and these plates give me my fix of silly animal cuteness, plus, the prints are spaced conveniently to allow you to decorate the plate with your own food. My personal fav is allowing the Baby Deer to have a curly mane of spaghetti. You can use that idea yourself – you’re welcome.

On the animal theme – IWOOT must have known about me – I also got this pack of Animal Gift Wrap*. The set contains everything you need to create your own little tigers (and other wild beasts) from plain boxes, giving your Christmas presents that extra standout this year. The kit includes paper, stickers and all the equipment for whipping up 24 different animals. I’ve not made one myself yet, as I am saving this kit to give to my sister who is a crafty little thing and will be able to do more justice to the kit than I can, but will be sure to post a picture on my Instagram page when she’s worked her animal magic.

These next two items I received I’ve also not fully dived into yet, because I truly believe they are great stocking fillers and will be using them as little extra summin’ summin’s on Christmas day. The first of these two is a Rechargable Floating Light* – I LOVE this idea for candle lovers, as it’s a much safer way of adding atmospheric light to your home than having a couple of mulled wines and leaving a candle burning all night. Secondly, and similarly, the Bottle Light* is along the same lines of thinking and also on a 3 for £20 offer right now. I can’t wait to see this in action, but again, I am going to use this as a stocking filler myself so can’t tear it out of it’s packaging just yet! I’m going to give both of these to my Dad; he LOVES his candles (no really) and likes to light up his whole dining room with them instead of lights. This has led to many different candle-in-bottles-in-jars-in-vases experiments (not all of which have gone well!) so I can see him making the most out of these. Plus, I’ll get to enjoy them over Christmas dinner, too!
