Claire’s Spring/Summer 2014 Launch

Hey kittens, hope you’re all okay! Although we’re now all getting ready for Christmas – and this blog post is indeed somewhat about a Crimbo dinner – it’s also about next Spring/Summer. Phew, talk about being forward thinking! So, when Claire’s invited me to look over their new year accessories (combined with a bit of a Christmas do) I was intrigued to see what would entail.

Now, although we might all have a little special something at the top of our Christmas list – and who can blame us for wanting the luxury items every now and again? – not everyone is in the position to splash out on omega designer watches on the reg. This is where Claire’s comes in! Personally, I have fond memories of Claire’s Accessories (as it used to be known); from the ages of 8 – 14 I could pretty much be guaranteed to drag my Mum in here on shopping trips and spend hours browsing the jewellery and trinkets on offer.

Since about the age of 14 I’ve not had much to do with the brand – it reminded me of being a little childish and something that wouldn’t really fit with my style. However, after receiving an invite to lunch at Rosso, one of the hottest celeb haunts in Manchester, my perceptions instantly changed. Not very childish anymore, eh?! And upon browsing the collection on my arrival I was not disappointed.

I was welcomed to the venue by Claire’s lovely PR team, Carmen and Josie, and greeted by some of my favourite other North West bloggers. We all shared a table and were seated randomly amongst other bloggers – a nice idea, I think, as it meant you got to speak to people you might not usually – with crackers and festive headwear (reindeer antlers, anyone?) decorating the table. Amongst a lovely festive, three-course Italian meal (with as much bubbly as your heart desired) we were invited to browse the top five collections Claire’s has for Spring/Summer 2014, grouped into categories such as “Indian Ocean” and “Festival”. It seemed kinda funny to be looking at straw hats and floral crowns whilst wearing your thermals in mid-December!

I had such a lovely day and it was great to see how Claire’s had evolved. It really has upped the style stakes from the Claire’s Accessories I remembered and I’m looking forward to styling some of their items in my up-and-coming Outfit of the Day posts.
