Hey kitty cats!
It’s about time I had another Outfit of the Day video post – whatcha think? I’ve been super duper busy with all these events that my outfits used to take centre stage, but now I’m too busy reporting on everyone else’s style. Phew! It’s kinda nice to play about with my own for a change!
It’s no secret that tie dye has been a huge trend this season and is set to continue well into summer, and I love the unusual and slightly alternative monochrome take that this casual skater dress has on the trend. In fact, I only did a tie dye midi dress giveaway the other week! Both this dress and my giveaway prize are from MissBehaver, one of my very fav online shops. Not only do they stock affordable fashion but they’re local too, which is what y’all Manchester kittens know I love in a brand – cheap and chic.
If you’ve fallen in lust with this dress – like I have – or just have seen something else that tickles your fancy on MissBehaver (I’m in love with the cute pinafore dresses they have new in), you can use my exclusive discount of lily15 to get 15% off!. Just enter lily15 in the promotional code box at the checkout to claim your discount – bargain!
As the dress has such cool coloured undertones with the greys and whites, I decided to bring a little warmth by pairing it with tan colour accessories. I added this thin little waist belt to divide the dress a little and (attempt) to clinch my waist in, as well as turning to my trusty Cloggs lita-esque boots to match perfectly!
To complete the injection of earth warm colours into the look, I wore my Rust coloured Brit Stitch bag. As you can see from my collection post on Brit Stitch, I’ve fallen in love with the British brand and their satchels are creeping their way into my outfits all over the shop (literally, I’m wearing them to every event going!). This handbag is in the Office model with a turn clasp, which is a little more practical than a buckle, and is fast becoming my favourite bag for it’s adaptable and durable colour. So cute!
As y’all kitty cats know, I can’t just leave an outfit simple and so had to add some finishing touches to it! Note the shirt I wore underneath the dress – I just can’t leave blouses alone and I feel no outfit is complete without a collar, so I feel the the peter pan detail and gold collar tips really help to inject my personal style into the outfit. Of course, I had to add a little more gold to matchy match with the collar tips, hence this amazing statement necklace from Primark which injects a little glamour into the look.
My final finishing touch comes with these grey frilly ankle socks to match the monochrome in the dress – as y’all well know, I have been rocking ankle socks since I was 4 years old and I’m not gonna stop soon!
So kittens, do you have any tie dye in your wardrobe this season? Do you prefer the bright tie dyes or prefer a more subtle monochrome look? Leave me a comment below and let me know! I like the tie dye trend that is around now and has two colours (preferably black and white or black or white with another colour) because it can be elegant but I used to hate the one that was around when I was a kid which had all the colours together. :)
Beautiful dress! Gorgeous tones :) looks great with the satchel. I love Britstitch too! x
