It can be pretty hard trying to find the perfect gift for that ‘him’ in your life. Whether it’s your boyfriend, brother, dad or husband, I find it never gets easier trying to think of ideas out-side-of-the-box for the men in my life. So, today’s post aims to give you a little bit of inspiration when looking for quirky gifts and little bits; here’s my Stocking Filler Gift Ideas for Him 2015.
Now, we all know both guys and gals watch Dr Who (I do myself!) but it tends to be that the boys in my family are that little bit more obsessed with it. This year, I stumbled upon these Dr Who themed Tardis Salt and Pepper Shakers* from Flamingo Gifts – a practical yet funny gift, perfect for the inner-geek inside any guy. This year I will be gifting these to my brother, Will, who is all about indulging his hidden nerd, without being TOO out-there about it.
Also from Flamingo Gifts is this retro themed ‘Liquor Rations’ hip-flask by Wild and Wolf*. This is the perfect gift for guys who are into the odd history-documentary or World War 2 themed memorabilia. Alternatively, it’s also a great gift for guys who are into their alcohol (which I know more than a few of!) as it’s a great vintage-style way of storing a swing or two of JD in your coat for a winter night out.
Speaking of alcohol, why not give the gift of a drink itself? Over 18’s only, of course, but I find buying a special bottle of something is always a sure-fire way to a man’s heart. At Christmas, I don’t like to just buy a 6 pack of beer or a bottle of wine, I think it’s the perfect chance to buy them something a little different that they probably wouldn’t buy themselves. This year, I’ve been loving trying out new cocktails recipes at home that I probably wouldn’t order off a bar menu, so I will be giving the gift of Apple Sourz* this year. Plus, these skull head shot classes make a fun gift set for something a little extra.
If your man prefers not to drink, there’s always food! Gifts of chocolate and biscuits are always a go-to at Christmas time, but why not think about something a little more unusual yet still festive? I personally love this jam gift set from IKEA*. This lovely gift set contains blueberry and ligonberry jams in re-usable pots – a really unusual gift idea of a sweet conidment that your boy probably won’t have tried before. Alternatively, I would recommend reaching for similar sauces and condiments before giving into Christmas chocolates and gold coins; it will make it look like you’ve thought about your presents a little more and last a little longer.
Finally, as a Pug Momma myself, I just HAD to include a little pug gift. Sorry not sorry! Plus, it’s well known that pugs aren’t a ‘girly’ dog and are a universal source of happiness. This Pug of War Mug* from Flamingo Gifts is a bargain at £8.99 and on the more masculine scale of pug-loving. Plus, it’s made from high quality bone china so is a pleasure to drink from; each time your main man takes a sip, he’ll be able to think of you and your Christmas gifts. N’aww!
