Acrylic Nails Manicure at barn//it Hairdressers and Beauty Salon, Manchester

If there’s two things I would class as my main hobbies, it’s getting pampering and drinking cocktails. So, when I discovered the brand new barn//it in Manchester City Centre – which prides itself on both! – I couldn’t wait to pop along. Having heard a plethora of amazing things about this five story beauty mecca, I was excited to see if it lived up to expectations and so I decided to test it out by trying my first Acrylic Nails Manicure at barn//it Hairdressers and Beauty Salon, Manchester.

barn//it Hairdressers and Beauty Salon is located right in the city centre at the super quirky New Church House on John Dalton Street (think: just down from the town hall). It’s decked out kinda how I imagine my dream home, with rustic yet modern touches, such as neon lights, pink mid century furniture and, wait for it, their ‘nail bar’ is actually a nail bar. A bar! Where they serve real life cocktails! I felt at home right away and settled into a cocktail or two as I took my seat at the bar.

Having never had acrylic nails before, I was super picky about where I would try first. We’ve all heard horror stories about them; drilling into your nails, ruining your nail beds and snapping off and taking pretty much the rest of your finger with them! However Kelsey, my Beautician at barn//it instantly reassured me that they only use the best products and techniques there.

Having worked in the industry for years with previous experience at Harvey Nichols, Kelsey assured me that barn//it is the only place in Manchester that uses Rockstar Acrylic – a product that lets your nails breathe and is made in the UK. Although slightly pricer than your average streetside nail salon at £40 for a full set of acrylic nails and £35 for infills, you definitely get what you pay for. There was also no drilling, limited filing and Kelsey was highly skilled and took her time over every last detail, including paying special attention to my fussy nail art requests using top quality Bio Sculpture Gel polish and ensuring I was comfortable with my nail’s length and shape throughout. What a perfectionist!

The results of my Acrylic Nails Manicure at barn//it Hairdressers and Beauty Salon, Manchester were (and still are – 2 weeks on) absolutely breathtaking. I finally have the Dita Von Teese nails of my dreams; a beautiful and classic pillarbox red half moon manicure. Every time I glance at my nails I feel instantly more glamorous, and actually, it’s totally boosted my confidence at feeling beautiful even when I’ve not made an effort elsewhere. They add instant glamour and are everything I have always wanted and more… I can’t imagine going back now.

Thank you to the team at barn//it for making me feel incredible welcome, pampered, and taken care of. I am already planning my next visit and hope to return in the next couple of weeks to keep up my new nail pampering routine. I would highly recommend all of the wonderful staff at barn//it for not only their expertise, but their welcoming nature; I have never before left a nail bar feeling so pampered and I would urge you all to treat yo’self for your next special occasion.
