Keds: Dancing Shoes in Manchester
Hey kittens, hope you’re all okay and have had a lovely week so far. If you’re looking forward to this weekend (who isn’t, right? It’s Thursday, after all), I thought I would give you a quick heads up about an event taking place in Manchester this weekend. Purrfect if you fancy putting your dancing shoes on!
Keds, one of my favourite casual shoewear brands, is hitting our hometown this weekend to sponsor the first event of the Swing Dance Balls across the UK. As y’all know, I love a bit of vintage fashion, and these balls are taking place to celebrate the tour of the UK from lindy hop legend, Frankie Manning. Dancers will be putting on their dancing shoes to “Swing”, “jitterbug” and “lindy hop” dance styles, reknown to hail from the late 1920s to late 1940s. I’m already prepping my winged eyeliner and red lipstick!
Manchester is the second stop in a UK wide tour, organised by Swing Patrol in collaboration with local swing dance scenes around the nation and hitting Manchester this Saturday (1st November). Leave me a comment below if you are lacing up your dancing shoes this weekend, and in the mean time, enjoy my top picks of Ked’s current offerings – I think you’ll agree that the retro red pair are right up my street.
