Since skinny jeans came into fashion in the early 2000’s, I’ve barely taken them off. Black ones for work, blue ones for days off and coated/faux leather ones for nights out – skinny jeans have been there for me through thick and thin (quite literally!).
Whether pairing them with a silk blouse for smart meetings or a vintage sweatshirt for chilling with my mates, skinny jeans go with everything. Which is why it felt so weird to try something new and go for some flowing wide leg trousers to walk into Winter with…
These wide leg trousers were a spur of the moment purchase. I saw them hanging in M&S, no less, in fact, in the sale section no less, no less, and for a bargainous £5 I couldn’t say no. A fiver. Come on, who can say no to a pair of something new for the same amount as a medium sized glass of chardonnay? So, with a pair of heeled boots and a paisley print patterned blouse, I decided to give them a whirl.
I can’t say I’m converted from skinny jeans, or if wide leg trousers are really for me, but I always think its best to try everything once. Right?
