Sometimes the greatest gifts are the ones you get yourself, right? Which is what Interflora are getting at with their Self-Partnered Bouquets. Sure, I am single through-and-through, but regardless of relationship status, Interflora want you to find out what bouquet is your perfect personality match, as they believe that ‘being happily self-partnered is a state of mind. It’s about loving yourself, knowing your worth and respecting your boundaries’. To help you find out your own ‘self-partnered’ personality, they’ve produced a quiz based on your loves and interests; I took it and my personality result was “Fiercely Independent”. And ain’t that the truth!
It may seem like a funny idea, but as someone who has missed out on the obligatory bunch of flowers for the past three Valentine’s Day, I can tell you, I appreciate the idea. Interflora’s self-partnered bouquets are designed to empower men and women. In fact, I am not a stranger to buying myself flowers – albeit mostly £1.50 posies of sunny daffodils – and so self-partnered bouquets is something I can get on board with. After all, I have been happily self-partnered for almost three years now and trust me, it’s gonna take someone pretty special to draw me out of my ‘fiercely indepedant’ lifestyle.
Like I said, my bouquet is named ‘The Fierce Independent’. Interflora said they had Selena Gomez in mind when they dreamt up this gorgeous bunch – yes, that’s right, the celeb, who recently described herself as “super, super single”! In fact, aside from the beautiful brightly coloured blooms, there are three types of luxe rose in this bouquet which come together to symbolises the quality of life as well as gratitude. And one thing that Selena is grateful for is spending time alone with her dog; something which me and her definitely have in common thanks to my little fury baby Lazy Sonny Days. In fact, this bunch of flowers is even pet-friendly, which makes it even more perfect for me.
The whole idea of the Self-partnered Bouquet campaign is to celebrate single life, promote self-love and be happy with your own relationship with yourself. Sure, it ain’t always easy but that’s what makes us human, and the despite having struggled with alone time in the past, I am now more content in my own company than ever. And, until I meet the husband of my dreams who knows he has to buy flowers every week, I’ll be buying my own damn flowers and thanking myself. And maybe, Interflora too!
