A Supremely Stylish Botanical Bedroom (For Less Than You Would Imagine)

Embracing the ‘70s botanical vibe that has been trending for a while now, is something I long to do in my bedroom space. However, the cost of it has always put me off. Surprisingly though, it may not take the full home mortgage, or selling of the family antiques to find the money I once thought! Something you can read more about in my post below.

Go cheap, chic, and neutral

The first thing that you can do to achieve a stylish, botanical bedroom is take in some inspiration from the many social media posts, and interior design spreads that there are.

In fact, what you will find is that while there are lots of different elements that come together to create a cohesive whole. However, the one thing many of these types of rooms have in common is a very neutral base.

What this means is rather than spending a fortune on ornate wallpapers, and expensive paint finishes it’s much better to opt for plain white walls and furniture instead.

Of course, finding such furniture items that are priced reasonably can be somewhat tricky. Although success is possible if you look for something like these cheap wardrobe offers online rather than going direct to exclusive stores. The reason being that with such a discount it is often possible to get something suitable within your budget.

DIY your decorations

Macrame! It’s another huge part of the ‘70s botanical trend both in plant pot holders and for wall hangings as well. In fact, it can help to give a lovely chilled out boho vibe to your bedroom. Of course, it’s likely that you will be less chilled when you see the price that some shops are charging for what is essentially a bit of fancy crochet!

Happily, you can avoid being fleeced altogether by DIYing your own macrame decorations. Something you can learn how to do with the help in the video below.

Thrift bamboo pieces.

Another essential of the ‘70s boho bedroom look is the bamboo accessory. Think plant pots, mirror frames, and even bedside tables and headboards if you can get them. Once again, however, if you are going to but these new you will encounter some pretty hefty prices, especially as they are so on trend right now.

Luckily, if you remember that the inspiration of which they draw is from the ’70s, a simple solution presents itself, which is to find original pieces in charity or thrift stores. Yes, you will need to act fast and have a good eye for the best pieces, but there are still some to be had out there.

Also, if they come with a little damage don’t be afraid of adding a quick coat of chalk paint to spruce them up a little, as this will ensure they still work in your boho bedroom space.

Get palm vibes from your artwork

Finally, when it comes to palm prints, the absolute cornerstone of any ’70s boho themed bedroom, eschew expensive curtains, and bedding!

Instead, go for framed prints and posters. A form of decoration that will cost a lot less and when the trend changes, as it inevitably will, can be replaced much more cheaply and easily as well.
