For one night only Harvey Nics offered at least 15% off all Spring/Summer 2013 items, with a quirky twist at the till. When you checked out your items, before paying you were given the chance to pick a discount card out of a raffle. The minimum discount ticket you would receive is a guaranteed 15%, but discounts could go as far as to 50% off the item. I was feeling lucky!
Firstly, I purchased some beauty items from my favourite Benefit concession at the store (check out my other blog posts here) which I got a cheeky 15% off on. The maximum discount on beauty was 15%, which might not seem like much, but is probably the highest discount I’ve seen from department stores on high end makeup. It would have been rude not to make the most of it!
After browsing the store with as much complimentary champagne as I could guzzle – hey, lets not be greedy here – I decided upon a couple more purchases I’d been lusting over for some time. I headed to the jewellery counter and got my paws on some Marc by Marc Jacobs earrings; classic additions to my every day wardrobe. Now, this was my chance to pull a 50% discount ticket out the raffle… Did I…?
Did I heck! I unfortunately only pulled 15% off and since the sales started last week, my earrings have annoyingly been further reduced after my purchase. Oh well, I guess that’s the nature of the game! However, I imagine 15% off would be very helpful should you want to purchase a larger and more expensive item such as a Mulberry handbag. And trust me, I saw plenty of those being bought!
Aside from the discount theme, I had a wonderful luxury shopping experience. Harvey Nichols can always be counted on for adding a touch of class to one’s evening – well, it is the most premium store in Manchester – and that night it didn’t disappoint. I’m now left waiting for the next event – the Autumn/Winter fashion show can’t be too far off now, can it?
