Discover the Murad Facial at John Lewis Beauty Retreat Cheadle

As you guys know, Murad is one of my favourite skin care brands, and so when I was invited along to try out an hour long luxury Murad facial at John Lewis Beauty Retreat, Cheadle, I absolutely leapt at the chance (and trust me, I never leap!). Although I have had Murad counter facials at Debenhams Trafford Centre before which I have always loved, this promised to be a different type of experience altogether. And trust me, it was.

John Lewis is of course a luxury store and although one of the biggest ones is located closed to me in South Manchester, I had never visited their in-house beauty salon before; The Beauty Retreat. However, that’s not where my facial begin – in fact I met Murad expert, Faz, on the counter. On the first floor where all the beauty stands are in John Lewis, Murad have a lovely stand with two helpful staff on standby.

Faz guided me through the skin scanner process that Murad specialise in. By taking a photo of a portion of your face, a specialist camera reveals any hidden signs of sun damage, pigmentation, fine lines, dryness, oil, acne and enlarged pores. Although some of these can obviously be seen on the surface, it also uses innovative technology to reveal signs of damage that aren’t visible to the naked eye, and helps to pinpoint any problem areas that can be treated with Murad products.

After a consultation, I was welcomed down to the Beauty Retreat on the lower ground floor. Faz gave me a consultation sheet to fill in and used this and the results of the skin scan to tailor a facial to me – she advised a chemical peel would work well to treat any signs of sun damage, which the camera had revealed under the skin.

After we discussed my treatment so I knew exactly what would happen, I was welcomed into a beautifully serene treatment room. With low lighting, candles, aromatherapy scents and calming music, it felt exactly like stepping into a spa! Lying on a heated bed, I was made to feel totally comfortable and calm before Faz set to work on my skin.

Throughout the course of an hour – maybe longer – I was made to feel 100% relaxed. In fact, I don’t think I have ever felt so pampered! My skin was treated with the best of Murad’s cosmesceutical skincare. Originating from LA, the brand was created by dermatologist to the stars Dr Murad, who created the skin care items he wanted to treat his patients with. From facial steaming, to my chemical peel, to massages on my face, neck and shoulders, I felt totally relaxed.

If you are considering treating yourself to a beauty treatment soon – which you really should, you deserve it – I would highly be recommending booking in for a Murad Facial at The Beauty Retreat in John Lewis. In fact, as I told Faz after my treatment, it was the best facial I have ever had.
