Hair and Makeup Artist On The Go with Blow Ltd

Is there anything better than feeling totally glammed up before your big night out? Whilst spray tans and new nails used to be the ‘big party prep’ on most people’s agendas (and let’s be honest, I still get my nails done every three weeks), hair and makeup artists are now top of most people’s lists of pre-party pampering. Sure, you could definitely wash your hair and slap some lippie on yourself, but what’s better than that? Having someone do it for you. Properly. And straight to your door. For my recent Blow LTD appointment, I arranged for Jade to meet my sister and I at The Principal where we were staying over before a special occasion.

Jade was super lovely from the get-go and definitely knew her stuff. She got stuck in straight away, laying out all her tools and working on my blow dry. Before she arrived, I had a shower where I washed my hair so it was damp for her (ready to get started right away) and had a naked face ready for her to truly start from scratch.

An absolute Pro, Jade took so much time and care on my hair. As you guys may know if you’ve read my blog for a long time, I always get nervous when other people do my hair. Because it just is so curly, I rarely trust people to do it and more often than not I end up not feeling like ‘me’, especially when its been straightened However, I put my trust totally in Jade and I can honestly say she created the most perfect hair-do I have ever had. With perfect attention to detail, she listened to what I wanted; still curls, so I felt like myself, but a little softer and more groomed. And that she did. She took the time to blow dry it straight, then re-curled it using straighteners into the most perfect Old Hollywood movie star style curls. It was love.

After my hair, Jade got stuck into my makeup. For this, she really took the time to consider what I would be wearing to ensure the colours she used would match my dress – the sign of a true professional. I told her that she was the expert and to go with what she thought, and I was delighted with the result. A pink lip to match the pink on my dress, a smoky eye with long luscious lashes and a porcelain flawless base, gorgeous.

Jade also did my sister’s hair and makeup exactly to her requirements, all whilst having a nice chat and giggle over a glass or two of gin (us – not Jade!).

Having a hair and makeup artist come to our hotel room felt like a proper girly get-ready session without the stress of worrying whether I would smudge my own lipstick or do my winged eyeliner wonky. It totally took the stress out of getting ready and I would highly recommend trying out the Blow LTD app for your next big night out, especially now we are full swing into the festive season.
