Today’s outfit is here to represent the amazing 29 gold medals Team GB won in the London 2012 Olympics! Yes, the olympics may be over but we still have the Paralympics to keep us going! I wonder how many we will win? Great Britain is doing us proud this year!
This outfit actually came together after a spontaneous purhcase at H&M. This skirt literally shone out to me and its £3 Sale pricetag made it even more tempting! I’m not usually one for bodycon skirts but I just had to have it. Its texture is so reminiscent of 1970s vintage and I knew I would be able to create some great looks with it.
Originally I didn’t even think to pair this MissGuided shirt with it, I felt it would be a bit much, but you all know me – love a bit of OTT and sparkle in my life! This is one of my new favourite shirts. I bought it from MissGuided as my graduation shirt and I did indeed wear it to my graduation! However, now I find it goes with just about anything and is able to add a little glitz to any outfit, which is a general aim of mine!
The necklace is one that I actually made myself. It was just a standard chain that I attached a chunky clasp to and decided it would be a cheap alternative to all those big, bike-chain necklaces that generally cost £20 or so in Topshop. Voila! It has served me well, despite its tendency to leave little rub stains on shirts. Still, thats the price you pay for a DIY alternative and one I am willing to fund.
Of course, my shoes had to tie in with the colour theme and do so perfectly as are both white in colour and have a gold sole. Perfect combination. They’re also relatively 1970s feeling, with their small buckle, overlapping toe detail and platform heel.
To finalize the outfit, I chose these wasp shaped studs from Miss Selfridge, which are also gold, silvery and glittery. All about the colour and glitz themes with this one!
