Myself with Eve Lom consultant, Julie (please excuse my make-up free face – this was post facial!)
Hey kittens, today I’m gonna get straight
to the point with this review. The facial I am about to tell you about is
possibly the BEST FACIAL EVER. Spoiler alert: it’s the Eve Lom Ultimate Cleanse
and it’s glorious.
Eve Lom are a luxury skincare brand with
over 25 years’ expertise, who are now boasting a full cosmetics range too. They
concentrate on the high end customer and their products are very much catered
to this. Want an idea of what they sell? Think, £120 for some facial crysals
and £70 for an SPF 50 moisturiser. Heck, I don’t have that kinda money to spend
on a cream to slap on my face, but it is lovely.
The local Eve Lom counter to me is in
Harvey Nichols, Manchester, and it’s certainly a fitting brand to have there.
When I was invited along to review their Ultimate Cleanse during their time
renting a pop up treatment room at the store, I wasn’t sure what to expect.
Having never tried Eve Lom before (c’mon, it’s pretty dear) and having had
previous experiences of facials in stores (read: sitting at a make-up counter
on a stool, having your make-up removed and a bit of moisturizer rubbed into
your face), I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, it was way better than that…
Turning up at the counter, I was greeted by
beauty consultant, Julie, who briefly introduced me to Eve Lom as a brand and
gave me a quick talk through of their main best sellers, including their new
Flawless Radiance Primer (RRP £40) which has apparently had rave reviews. She
let me know that after the facial she would give me some sample sachets to take
away – which I have now gladly used up to the last drop – so that I could try a
little bit for myself.
She then showed me into the treatment room at the back of the store. This is
where I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised to see a
clean, bright room with a massage table, sink, coat hangers and a table full of
goodies to be used during the treatment. Julie left me to get settled and
tucked into the massage bed (very posh for a facial – it even had special pillows,
blankets, a head wrap and a ‘sausage’ cousin to go underneath my knees to make
sure I was really snug). Coming back into the room, she dimmed the lights, put
on some relaxing music and got stuck into making my face glow!
The facial itself was the most attentive,
luxurious facial I have ever had (and I am quite lucky to say that I’ve had a
few!). Starting off with a massage on certain pressure points of my body, Julie
carried on working into a shoulder/chest/neck/scalp massage. This was way more
than I expected and at certain points throughout the facial the massage
continued – totally relaxing! When it came to my skin treatment and the actual
facial part, I was also totally pampered. A range of cleansing, exfoliating and
masking went on. I wouldn’t want to dare say which products were used or in
what order, but I know that they all felt and smelt incredible! A unique part
of the facial was the use of hot, liquid paraffin wax as a facemask. Whilst the
max set, Julie switched the lights off and left me to relax for a while, all
whilst I was tucked up in my cacoon of blankets and relaxing music – I could
have dropped off!
After the 1 hour, 25 minute facial (the
longest I’ve ever had), I left feeling totally relaxed and pampered. After
exclaiming at Julie that she had given me the BEST FACIAL EVER, she talked me
through a little bag of sample sachets, which she gave me to try for myself. My
favourite of these was the Eve Lom cleanser, which I used over 3 days sparingly
and each evening it removed my make-up fully. I am dying to own the full size
version but at £85 for 200ml it’s a little out of my price range. It just
smells incredible and is a half gel/half exfoliating consistency which screams
luxury and it’s scent takes me back to the facial. Heck, I can’t count the amount
of times I’ve used the word ‘luxury’ in this review, but that’s the only word
for it!
To conclude, I would highly, highly
recommend the Eve Lom Ultimate Cleanse. Unfortuantely the pop-up treatment room
is not a permanent fixture at Harvey Nichols but a little birdy told me they
are trying to get some more weeks booked in for it very soon. The tratment
lasts official one hour (although mine did take a bit longer, which is a
bonus!) and costs £85. Whilst that seems expensive, it’s a small price to pay
for feeling so relaxed and having your skin glow for days after. PLUS, it is
fully redeemable against any two products within a minimum spend, which is pretty
cool; if you were thinking of buying from them anyway, their facial is
basically free…? That’s what I’m telling myself anyway. They have the room
booked for one week for each month from July to November, I’m already saving my
pennies to go back…

This sounds like pure luxury! I want an hour and 25 minute facial!
