Thought I’d mix up the order of my Outfit of the Day updates now with my newest one! Ah, a new order, refreshing. Almost as refreshing as this cool outfit on a summer day?
Well, that would be possible had we had any trace of a summer this year! With this outfit, I wanted to show what I would wear to the beach, in the unusual event that the UK should actually follow the usual weather patterns for an August day.
Ah, I know what you’re thinking. Heels? Beach? Well, I chose these leopard beauties to demonstrate how one can go from day to night in a simple flick of the heel. Of course, leopard print is my staple to all outfits and I think does wonders to brighten up a very simple look, one with which I wouldn’t feel would warrant many fashion bonus points otherwise. They also go impeccably with my leopard print sunnies that I sourced from the men’s section of Primark for £1! Bargain lovers “r” us.
If you all hadn’t guessed from my outfit videos before, I do love a bit of a high waist. I feel high waisted trousers/shorts/skirts instantly give the outfit a vintage feel, whether that be dating back to the 1930s or as recently as the 1980s. The halter neck top I paired with these Primark beauties helps to create a slight 1950s feel. Anyone that’s known me for a while will know that I embraced the pin-up style quite heavily when I was 15 until about 19 but during university I got lazy with my hair. Had I gone for the full on pin-up girl style, I feel this outfit, athough simple, could warrant the authenticity of a vintage postcard.
However, as stated before, I wanted a simple beach look and that is reflected with my very simple hair style (literally just tied with one bobble on my top of my head) and my lack of make-up bar the red lipstick – demonstrating that a lapping of lippy and helping of heels can help to turn your look from beach babe to 1950s glam.
