Anyway, back to my outfit. As I said, I was walking around all day – a “flaneur” if you want to cite capitalist theorist Walter Benjamin – and so comfortable footwear was needed. This winter, these ankle boots have been a lifesaver; simple, black with a bit of a heel and a couple of buckles for detail whilst still being comfortable. Deichmann can do no wrong in my eyes at the moment and how worn these boots now look are testament to that.
Aside from my accessories, my outfit was pretty much all black everrrythang apart from my gorgeous new Zara coat. Santa did good this year! After visiting Zara for their opening party back in November, this gorgeous faux fur leopard print number had been top of my Christmas list and I was so thankful to receive it as a Christmas gift. Having received my first leopard print faux fur coat for my 18th birthday, I lived in it until this Winter and to be honest, it had gone past any sort of respectability. This Zara beaut is my new saviour.
Finally, I wore my Vivienne Westwood chancery handbag to bring the outfit together. Always the perfect size for looking small yet fitting in all the bits and bobs a gal could ever need – Mary Poppins ring a bell? – its forever my go-to tote. It might have been expensive but its getting enough wear to justify it. Well, that’s what I tell myself at least!
