The 70s are everywhere right now and guess what? I did it. I finally gave in to flared jeans. Yep, the skinny jeans addict has ditched her drainpipes and is giving the boot-cut variety a go. And, despite initial shock, I am actually kinda enjoying it. I mean, kinda. They won’t replace my skinnies but they have certainly earned a place in my summer wardrobe. 70’s summer, here we come!
So, the flared jeans are having their moment but so are the lace up tops. This babydoll long sleeved top from Have to Love is so 70’s that it feeds all of my retro cravings. It’s chiffon finish, it’s tie up neckline, it’s flowing sleeves, it’s all vintage-goodness, but with a modern khaki twist. I’m wearing it with a pair of black jeans and a black coat as I type right now, as it certainly seems to have the abilitiy to go with almost anything, I’m impressed!
Both the jeans and top are from a new discovery, the Have to Love boutique in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. My sister lives in Newcastle so our family have very personal connections to the city and so be able to sent two new style items from a town I love was kinda touching.
To finish the look, I popped on a brand new pair of Rocket Dogs. I know, I know – I just can’t stop wearing them! This pair of Kelby Silver Wedge Sandals just finishes the outfit so well – with a thick foam wedge and thick silver straps, they’re certainly a statement but just as versitle, too. Oh, and yep, they are just as comfortable as they look. It’s love.
