Adding Finishing Touches to My Home with Wall Art by Desenio

As you guys know, I have recently bought my first house and have been spending the past few months turning it from a house into a home. Although the bulk of the decorating is done and it now feels like ‘mine’, it is still lacking some final finishing touches. You know, things that make it truly personal and add the cherry on top of the cake. Or in this case, the art on the walls! This weekend, I’ve been taking some time since getting back from living in Utah to add the finishing touches to my home using wall art by Desenio.

If you’re big on reading blogs and scrolling through Instagram, you definitely will have heard of Desenio before. The first two prints I chose from the site were for my conservatory-come-bar which I have decorated with all things pink, tropical and girly! To coincide with my feminine and feminist theme, I wanted to go with a combination of an art print and a quote print to really get across the vibe of the room. Both of these are in the largest size available on Desenio at 50x70cm and will sit side by side right above my sofa (just waiting for the wall fittings before I pop them up myself).

My amazing feminist art print, The Future Is Female, reminds me of a feminist take on those iconic ‘Supreme’ art prints that have been doing the rounds on social. I absolutely love it and it totally conveys my love of all things Girrrrl Power! Plus, the pink text blocks go perfectly with my baby pink walls. It’s ideal.

The second print, the Carrie Bradshaw quote print, is one I have had my eye on for a while now. I first saw blogger Em Sheldon share it on her Instagram and ever since I just knew I had to have it! The quote perfectly encompasses my view to dating right now and is the ideal quote for having in my girly room ready for girls nights in, whilst we drink a glass of prosecco and gossip about boys. Plus, the two prints just look perfect next to each other.

My bedroom has a strong white and gold theme and to coincide with the colour scheme, I chose a gold embossed typography print from Desenio to match. The Always Find Time poster is propped on my bedside table as a reminder every morning to always find time for the things that make me happy. The gold scroll embossed on the black and white print stands out beautifully and looks super expensive in a gold frame. However it’s very affordable at just £22.95 – you can’t go wrong! It’s the perfect mantra to wake up to every day.

The final two prints I bought are designed for my lounge. My living room is all things black and gold and art deco and clashing prints and textures, it is everything I love all in one room! For in here, I chose two Desenio prints with a mostly black background to go in gold frames to sit on one of my white, non wall paper walls. (Pictures to come of them hanging up as soon as I’ve had chance to sort out some wall pins!).

I selected the Wild One poster as it’s palm print background and gold typography go perfectly with the theme of the room, the leaves tying into the wallpaper and the text into the whole colour theme. The second print, the Life Is Tough My Darling poster, I chose because, well, I absolutely love this quote and right now I need a little reminder that pressure creates diamonds. Plus, this one is super affordable with the price for it starting at just £5.95 for the smallest size. Bargain!
