As a curly girly, I’ve often struggled with finding the perfect combination of shampoo and conditioner that feels just right on my hair. My straight haired pals often can’t relate – they go for a colour fix or a shines solution and their hair is beautifully sleek and good to go!
However if you’re reading this because you’re a curly cutie and are also on your quest for the next best frizz fighting and curl defining solution, you’ll understand how hard it is to find products that not only nourish the dryness that curly hair can bring, but aren’t too heavy that they weight down your curls, and are light enough that your hair still looks full of volume but with limited frizz. Le sigh!
But I might just have the answer for you – the Aveda Be Curly Range for Curly Hair.
The Aveda Be Curly Range for Curly Hair is without a doubt the best combination of curly hair care products that I have ever tried – and trust me, I’ve tried a lot! Now, it might sound like I’m on commission but I swear I’m not; I simply know first hand what it is to buy new products, use them once, pass them on to a mate because nothing makes your hair feel truly like itself. You get me?
For me, Be Curly’s formulation gets curly hair care just right. I like to wash my hair twice a week (no more, or it feels too soft, no less or it gets too frizzy) and start with a palm sized amount of the Be Curly Shampoo to thoroughly cleanse my hair. It contains wheat protein and organic aloe blend which supposedly expand when hair is wet and retracts again when dry to enhance curls.
I then tend to go for the Be Curly Conditioner which reduces frizz in my hair and leaves it feeling silky without it being too soft to style. I like to leave this on for around 3 – 5 minutes almost as a mini mask, which I find really helps the product to take it’s time to work. I also use a soft paddle brush to comb through my hair at this point – never when dry! That just encourages frizz.
Alongside these two, I switch up my routine with the Be Curly Co-Wash, which I use intermittently to cleanse my scalp and is sulphate free to reduce frizz. I really like that this is part of the routine Aveda promote; it’s a technique my beautiful afro haired friends have used for many many years but one that is relatively new to me. And I love it!
When my hair is damp I will always add in some sort of styling product. I won’t go into too much detail now, as us curly girls know that each one of us prefers something different; a mouse, an oil, a cream. Heck, that’s a whole other blog post! But if you do try and enjoy the Be Curly range, Aveda also do a whole range of Curl Controllers, Sprays, Masques and even a Be Curly Style Prep, to ensure our hair is cared for just as much as the attention our straight haired counterparts seem to receive.
Honestly, if you’re in the same boat as I’ve been, give the Aveda Be Curly Range for Curly Hair a go and just see what you think…
