My New Curly Hair Serum: Bouclème Super Hold Styler

All the ladies with curly hair, put ya hands up! (Puts hands way up). As you guys know, I am an advocate of the naturally curly hair and love to share my hair care tips and curly hair routines as and when they’re updated. For me, having curly hair is part of who I am – and what makes me feel like me – but caring for curly har isn’t always easy.

Enter Bouclème, a plant powered hair care range for curls, and their new styling product, the Bouclème Super Hold Styler! Intended to be used after washing your hair whilst still damp (in a similar way to most curly hair creams and serums), the Super Hold Styler is the post-wash product I have been trialling for the past three weeks. Not yet released, it is available to buy from exclusively on boucleme.co.uk at the end of May 2019.

The Bouclème Super Hold Styler prides itself for defining curls across the tightness spectrum, from loose waves to tight coils. Created with nourishing extracts of chia seed, agave, and plant sugars, this serum is designed to feed your curls, ensuring maximum bounce and movement and to not leave it feeling weighed down… And does it? I think so, yes.

Although typically I prefer a thicker cream for a stronger hold (my curls are tight, super thick and almost waist-length so perhaps I need it more than most), I do appreciate the weightless feel of the Bouclème Super Hold Styler. I apply this twice weekly, after my hair wash, on damp hair that has been in a hair wrap for around 10 minutes. I rake it through my curls whilst damp and then twist my hair to encourage the ringlets to form naturally. I then leave to dry naturally in the evening… And the next day, its like I haven’t applied anything!

Of course, if you’re familiar with the brand you will know that they also do a whole host of other curly hair specialist products, such as my travel sized shampoo and conditioners I enjoy taking on the road with me for work. The new Super Hold Styler has now also joined me in my overnight bag, as its lightweight enough to ensure I can wash my hair late at night without having to worry about too much product weighing down my curls over night, yet still has enough nourishment in in to help me avoid waking up to frizz.
