Braving the Winter Sun with a Faux Fur Trimmed Red Coat

Knock, knock, who’s there? Not Jon Snow, ‘coz Winter is well and truly here. November has rolled around so quickly this year – too quickly – and I’ve found myself severely underprepared and underdressed. Although we have been treated to a pleasantly surprising bout of Winter Sun in Manchester, the brightness doesn’t distract from the chill and trust me, it’s been cold! Thankfully, J5 Fashion was there to help me out by providing me with this beautiful faux fur trimmed red coat.

You guys know I always like to involve myself with the local companies and this is no exception. J5 sell a wide range of clothing and accessories including dresses, jackets and jeans. For this outfit, I chose this faux fur trimmed red coat as I love to face Winter with a bright statement coat, but I also have knitwear and trousers from J5, both of which are great quality for the price.

For this outfit of the day, I wanted to keep the coat as the main event and so keep the rest of the look simple and sophisticated. Faux fur trimmed coats always give me a classic vibe – in my head I think I’m a 1940’s Hollywood movie star – and this deep red colour just adds to it. I didn’t want to wear anything that would distract from the coat and so I kept the rest simple with all black everything, a pair of tassled boots, and completed with a pop of colour via my red lips. Et voila, perfect for facing the Winter sun.
