Hot cloth cleansers rose to popularity in the skincare world a few years ago, and I for one haven’t looked back since! From cream cleansers to cleansing balms, there has been a natural revolution of different types of hot cloth cleansers, with one variety being oils. Cleansing with oils is one of my favourite ways to remove makeup – as it is far more gentle on my skin than makeup wipes and scrubbing with micellar water – and so I was delighted to try a couple of skincare oils from new local skincare company, Stripped.
Stripped skincare has been created by Sinead Hughes, who grew up in Urmston, and the beautiful artwork on the glass packaging is designed by Bolton-born fashion illustrator, Dominic Evans (DOM&INK). I love a local start-up company, and Stripped is formulated and manufactured in the UK with sustainable sourced ingredients and packaged in recyclable glass jars and aluminium tins, making it perfect for eco-conscious skincare lovers.
The whole collection features just five oil-based products, an I have been trying out the Rosehip & Mandarin Moisturising Oil (£16.00), Calendula & Mandarin Hot Cloth Cleansing Oil (£15.00) and Lavender Eye Make-Up Remover Oil (£8.00). My favourite two items have been both the cleansers, and I have truly enjoyed removing my makeup and double cleansing my skin with the Stripped Hot Cloth Cleansing Oil and Lavender Eye Make-Up Remove. Both of these products smell incredible and feel luxurious on the skin, like an at-home spa facial. My only gripe is that there’s not enough product there for me – admittedly I use more than is required as I like to indulge in my evening skincare routine, but I will be so sad when these little beauties soon run out!
