Clinique Contour and Highlight Chubby Sticks

The Clinique Contour and Highlight Chubby Sticks are the only cream contour items I use. On a daily basis I tend to brush a spot of bronzer over my cheeks but if I am on a night out or getting ready for a photoshoot, these two cream contour sticks are the two I will reach for. Currently, they’re the only contour and highlight combinations that work well with a cream formula for me and really stand the test of time on my face.

Based on Clinique’s famous ‘chubby stick’ shape, the Clinique Contour and Highlight Chubby Sticks both come in a thick pencil shape with a blunt nib. They are super easy to use to contour your face, as you quite literally draw them on where ever you would like shade and light.

Typically, I use the highlight on the areas the light would naturally hit; the arch of my eyebrows, the bridge of my nose, my cupid’s bow and the top of my cheekbones. Similarly, I use the contour stick add shade to areas I would rather slim down, in particular the hollows of my cheekbones and the sides of my nose.

Both the highlight and contour sticks have excellent colour pay off and are smooth and creamy to touch, which makes them very easy to blend into your foundation without loosing the pigment in the shades. Although I find the highlight does get a little lost on my pale skin, the contour stick makes the whole process totally worth it for me.I blend it into my foundation using a Beauty Blender sponge and once in place it lasts all day, providing a natural yet sculpted base for make-up.
