Creating A Luxury Feeling in the Bedroom

Your bedroom is one of the places in the world that you should feel the calmest—a space where you can relax after any type of day you’ve had.

When you sit on the edge of the bed, you are happy and safe and ready to sink into the surroundings.

Yet, many of us spend so much time elsewhere in the home that the bedroom can become a forgotten land – only being the space to sleep.

Think abut the last time you headed to a hotel, and the room was clean, well designed and perfect for you to relax into.

Not all hotels have the same bedroom luxury, but you can create your luxurious feeling bedroom.

Take Stock

Before you start adding new things and taking others away,, spend some time looking at what you have.

If you have a theme in your home and have spent some time curating the look, extend that into your bedroom to keep the good energy and design flowing.

Make a note of the things that you would want to change, and set yourself a budget.

Remember that you don’t need to do everything at once. Changing it over time can give you a more cohesive look and allows you to curate slowly.

Clutter

Stylish storage options are covered in From Basic To Beguiling: How To Elevate Your Bedroom Design, but you need to prep the space for those new storage options.

Specifically looking at clothing, do you wear everything that you currently have? If not, then it is time to donate or sell what you don’t adore.

Loving every item within the space, from the pen pots to the lampshades, is essential.

Declutter, and give the room a good clean.

Luxe Snoozing

Do you find yourself laying down on a lumpy mattress, hoping that you manage to get any sleep at all? We are supposed to change our mattresses every 6 – 8 years, but many people fly right by that date.

But a high-end mattress can make your sleeping time feel incredible.

Aside from the mattress, the materials you sleep in can have a considerable impact. You don’t need to splurge on 1000 count cotton bed sheets, but having something breathable and high quality will instantly change how the room looks and feels.

Florals

Since you have decluttered and made some space – it’s time to fill it with something synonymous with luxury.

Add plants and flowers to your bedroom area. Many plants don’t need a lot of light to thrive, or you can opt for faux flowers to bring the room together.

Almost all high-end hotels and spas will have flowers around the space.

Not only do plants help to keep the air in the room clean, but plants and flowers add a bright pop of colour that can bring life into any room.

Scent

Skip headache-inducing cheaper scents, and opt for a luxury candle or reed diffuser designed to go in the bedroom.

The soft scent wafting around the room will bring peace and calm.

Scents like jasmine, lavender, bergamot and cotton or linen are usually soft enough to relax and smell great.
