Superboost Your Skincare with an Elemis Facial Harvey Nichols Manchester Spa Skincare Salon

If there’s one area of beauty that I will never resent spending money on, it’s skincare. Makeup you can wash off and you can dye your hair (or wear a wig!) as many times as you want – but you only have one face! By looking after your complexion you can give yourself the perfect canvas to confidence – whether it’s for helping you feel empowered to go makeup free or to act as the best base for makeup.

So, in an effort to superboost my at-home skincare routine to the next level, I am making a conscious effort to try and have regularly facials for a deep cleanse every month. To kick start this routine, I went for an indulgent Elemis Facial at Harvey Nichols Manchester.

Located on the Beauty Floor of Harvey Nichols Manchester, the Elemis concession takes pride of place amongst the skincare offerings at Manchester’s most luxurious department store. With walls full of premium skincare products and a friendly face to greet me, I was welcomed by Elemis Manager Stephanie who instantly made me feel at home. You know that slight fear of intimidation that you may get when approaching therapists and MUA’s at other makeup counters at other department stores? There was none of that here!

Before starting my facial, Stephanie took the time to educate me on the science behind skincare and told me about why its so important to have a skincare routine that penetrates the different layers of the skin. Alongside this, I had my face scanned by a very clever device that pinpoints areas such as pigmentation, acne and fine lines where you may need more help. Not the most flattering experience, I’ll admit – no one likes to see their face in that much zoom-in-detail! – but definitely good to have a wakeup call and see what areas need extra care.

Soon, it was time for my facial and as Stephanie helped me settle into a luxurious massage chair (what a bonus!) I had an immediate feeling of serenity. Stephanie went to work on my face using the very best of Elemis facial products with the most beautiful aromatherapy scents. With the massage chair taking care of my body, Stephanie gently caring for my face and a background of beautiful scents and serene background music, I was in such deep relaxation that I completely forgot I was in one of the biggest stores in Manchester. If you would have told me I was at a luxury Elemis spa I would have believed you.

Stephanie advised me on the best products to use for my skin type and even let me take away some samples to continue on the routine for another couple of weeks before returning in a month for another deep cleanse. My favourite product had to be the Elemis Nourishing Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil which was such a treat to use; it smelt like an exotic spa and felt like a dream.

After the facial, my skin felt totally revitalized and brightened. So much so, that I felt confident enough to go for lunch and drinks bare faced on a busy weekend in Manchester City Centre without so much as blinking.

Costing £30 for an Elemis Facial at Harvey Nichols Manchester, I would totally recommend this if you are looking to up your skincare routine.
