If you ever wondered what my every day, minimum effort, maximum results makeup face is – this is it. Today I’ve partnered up with Debenhams Beauty to take you through my step-by-step everyday makeup routine using all Benefit Cosmetics products available directly from Debenhams. So, if you want to see what I use to achieve this look, keep reading!
Step 1: Fill in the Brows
The first step in any everyday makeup routine has to be the brows. Some might start with adding a face base by popping on primer and foundation, but most days – e.g. for popping to work – I quite frankly can’t be bothered. Plus, I like to let my skin breathe!
So, instead I go in with Pricesly My Brow to shape and fill in my eyebrows. This handy double-ended eyebrow tool is multi-purpose, and I first use the spoolly end to gently brush my brows into place, before going in with the pencil end to fill them in. I particularly love this product as it’s pencil nib is so tiny that I can create realistic hair-like strokes to ensure my brows look full yet natural.
Step 2: Prime the Eyelashes
I might not be priming my face on a daily basis, but I’m sure as heck priming my eyelashes. Mascara can make a world of difference to any look, especially when you’re going mostly bare, and so adding a layer of Benefit’s Tinted Lash Primer before I pop on a coat of coloured mascara really helps to create some added ‘oomph’. Debenhams have an amazing range of Benefit Mascara, which makes creating long, luscious lashes super easy.
Step 3: Add Mascara
Now, time for the real deal! My favourite ever mascara is the Benefit They’re Real Mascara – it’s a number 1 best seller and I can totally understand why. It’s huge, tightly bristled brush helps to create voluminous long lashes, whilst it’s black colour is some of the most pigmented I have used. It’s unique brush means you get totally no clumps and create fluttering eyes at the flick of the wand.
Right now I’m using the Big Blow Out Benefit Mascara which contains a full size They’re Real and a mini travel size too, meaning you can create long lashes on the go as well as at home. This kit is available exclusively to Debenhams and is excellent value for money!
Step 4: Contour the Eyes
Face contour might be big but some days I just don’t have time to contour my face and instead, like to use a shadow to create some definition around my eyes. I figure that if I’m going to be making eye contact with everyone all day at work, my eyes may as well look good doing it!
Right now I am using the Benefit Duo Shadow Blender eyeshadow in shade Naughty Neutral. Not only is this the perfect – you guessed it – neutral shade, but it contains a small sponge applicator meaning you can apply two shades of shadow in one fell swoop! The perfect lazy girl way to apply eye colour when you’re in a rush before work.
Step 5: Apply Winged Eyeliner
On days where I have an extra two minutes to spare, I will always go in with an eyeliner flick. Winged eyeliner never goes out of style and a small cat eye look is the perfect way to add some character to a quick everyday makeup routine. Benefit’s They’re Real Push Up Liner Pen Eyeliner helps you to create a feline flick in just a second, with its handy angled brush and matte black pigment.
Step 6: Finish with Red Lips
Sure, this might be an everyday makeup look but red lips are ‘my thing’ and I like to rep them whenever I can. For quick, everyday application, I reach for Benefit’s Double The Lip Lipstick and Liner. This is another handy multi-purpose product that contains a lipliner and lipstick in one product, meaning you can apply both of these at the same time – perfect for applying quickly before work or for topping up your pout on the go.
I choose mine in the shade Lusty Rose, which is not red enough to raise eyebrows at work, but definitely red enough to make a statement.
And then I like to pack it all away in a handy Benefit cosmetics bag, perfect for topping up during the day at work, on my lunch break and for ramping up the look to take it from day-to-night.
And there we have it – the finished look! A full, everyday makeup face in six handy steps using all Benefit Cosmetics products available now from Debenhams. Now, what multi-purpose and handy everyday makeup items do you carry in your on-the-go cosmetics bag? Leave me a comment below and let me know – I would love to hear your tips!
