Eyebrow Tint and Thread at Shavata Brow Bar in Harvey Nichols Beauty Hall, Manchester

Is there anything that makes you feel better that freshly shaped brows? Very little, I’d say! And with eyebrow tint and shapes becoming some of the most popular beauty treatments and routines in the UK right now, its little surprise that Shavata Brow Studio at Harvey Nichols, Manchester, is so popular. To find out what this luxury brow bar was all about, I popped along to Harvey Nics for my own tint and thread by none other than Shavata herself!

Shavata Singh, creator of the Shavata Brow Studio and now her own range of specialist eyebrow products, boasts a celebrity client list that includes Elle Macpherson, Kelly Brook, Lily Allen and now me! I was honoured to be able to visit the Shavata Brow Bar in Manchester’s very own Harvey Nichols beauty floor to have her work her magic on my brows. Even though I had my eyebrows micro-bladed (a form of semi-permanent makeup) a few months ago, I do find that having them tinted really helps them to keep looking defined over time.

After removing my makeup and analysing my eyebrows, Shavata got to work on the tint, using a dark brown, almost black, shade. Eyebrow tinting at the Shavata Brow Bar starts at £14 for a therapist and £16 for a Shavata Senior specialist. It essentially dyes your eyebrow hair to a darker shade which is meant to last for a couple of weeks. I personally find that if leaving it on for around 5 mins I tend to get around 2 weeks worth of dye out of it.

After defining the shape of my eyebrow hairs with the tint, Shavata got to work on threading my brows. Keeping to their natural shape and making sure not to take too much hair off (my worst nightmare!), she got into this quickly (albeit a little painfully!). Threading is an ancient method of hair removal which originated in India and involves the use of pure cotton thread, which is manipulated in a certain way to remove unwanted hair from its roots.An eyebrow shape – based on threading – starts at £18 for a therapist, and £27 for a Shavata Senior specialist.

With a finishing of Shavata’s own eyebrow beauty products to keep my brows looking trimmed and in shape, I was good to go. Of course, you can top up the results at home by tweasing any strays and using Shavata’s products to fill in your brows, but nothing quite beats a professional tint and thread by the original eyebrow queen herself!
