I thought I would share a snippet of my personal life with you lovely lot, considering I’ve not done that yet.
Thursday was my Graduation Ball. What a fabulous night!
Not only did we have a three course meal in the Great Hall (the veggie option wasn’t really up to scratch, but I guess that’s the price you pay when you don’t want to eat baby animals), we had a drinks reception, live bands and tons of entertainment. Maverick Sabre and Skepta performed – not my cup of tea usually, but anything can eventually be my cuppa after enough wine. There was also “baneoke”, like kareoke for, um, bands, and a silent disco. However, the best entertainment of all had to be the free funfair that turned the whole of campus into a carnival! Not only were there classic fairground rides such as waltzers and dodgems, but also games, calorific foods and candy floss!
The only downside was that aside from the meal, the event was totally outside. It also rained. A lot. A lot of wind and a lot of rain. For future reference, wearing a ball gown, heels and no coat in a monsoon is not great for one’s health; I am now suffering from the most awful woman flu. I feel the university should maybe have planned better for rain – although there were indeed marquees and some walkways, this really wasn’t sufficient enough to accomodate thousands of wet, drunk, swarming students. I suppose it did allow us to successfully play out the cliché of dancing in the rain!
Please enjoy these pictures of my night and hopefully you will find them
as entertaining as I did! I was trying to go for a Classic Hollywood
vintage feel (aren’t I always?) in my outfit. If you would like to see
any details on my hair, make-up or clothes please leave a comment below.

I’m sorry you didn’t get to enjoy the meals that were served and that there were other nuisances. But at least, you didn’t ruin your specific diet. And sometimes the company of your friends can make you forget about a rumbling stomach. :D Good luck on conquering the world, Lily!
