Handbag Giveaway and Outfit of the Day

So kitty cats, today’s look is what I wore to the AXParis #AXPressDayAW14 this Saturday. Before heading over to the press day, I popped to the Northern Quarter to have lunch with some good company (as in people, not a business) and this outfit served me well for transitioning between daytime to nighttime.

With almost an ‘all black everrrythang’ outfit going on, I popped on my Sunflower print kimono from MissBehaver to quite literally brighten up the whole look. Although one could argue that florals are a little too summery for September, as I learnt from the John Lewis AW14 fashion show, ‘Winter Bloom’ florals are very much in, so with the black background to this print, I can see this kimono carrying my transitional wardrobe way further on into Autumn then most. Plus, the print is almost identical to those American Apparel two pieces and shirts, at a fraction of the price. Bargain.

As I know my kimono was doing all the talking, I kept my accessories pretty simple as to not go OTT, with just this statement necklace from Jon Richard brightening up my black studded shirt and black disco pants. The Lauren Grab Bag is honestly the most perfect sized handbag I’ve ever owned. Yep, I love my Vivienne Westwood messenger bag, but gurrrl that does not fit enough of my essentials in. On the other hand, I lug a huge tote bag to and from work every day which can fit more than enough in, but I end up cramming it to the brim and it’s way to heavy to be worn on my shoulder. This is just the best of both. With two different zip sections, I can honestly fit everything I would ever need into this whilst it still looks tiny. It’s a Mary Poppins bag – no lie! On Saturday I managed to pop in: my travel make-up bag, my large wallet-style Vivienne Westwood purse, my iPhone, my Futurocks portable charger, a pack of tissues, a mirror, my business cards, a cereal bar and wait for it… My Canon DSLR camera. Yes. Really.
