Contouring with Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Stick

Gone are the days where foundation is expected to come in glass bottles and liquid form. Now, luxury cosmetics brands are likely to serve out their face bases in different forms and luxury cosmetics and skincare brand Lancôme is no exception. The new Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Stick comes served up in, well, a stick, and whilst it’s designed to provide your usual foundation base, it’s formula makes for a super easy way to contour.

The Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Stick comes in a range of shades and I decided to pick up two – one for a base colour, and one to act as a contour shade to chisel my face out with. Not your everyday look as the formula is relatively thick, but it works well for a full face for a night out (following the same ethos as cream contour). I have shade 025 which is a very pale cool toned colour for my base, and also shade 16 which is a darker, cool toned brown for my contour shade.

 Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Sticks are high coverage with a creamy consistency. It’s highly pigmented so provides a thick, matte finish with just a couple of strokes and works hard enough to last all day when set with translucent powder. However, oily friends need not worry as the formula is oil-free, helping to reduce shine when worn throughout the day. In fact, it is designed to be used by all skin types.

 At £27 each, it’s a reasonable price for foundation and as usual I am impressed by Lancôme’s formula. Although I enjoy experimenting with new and independent brands, Lancôme is one of those beauty brands I have come to depend on for buying staple products and their new Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Sticks are no exception.
