The weather here might well be living up to it’s ‘Manchester drizzle’ status but despite a spot of rain here and there (and everywhere) it’s still August and heck, I’m gonna dress live it. In between the downpours I’ve been taking the advantage of the height of the British Summertime and making sure I get the most from my holiday wardrobe. One of my favourites right now is this beautiful leaf print maxi dress from Very, which fulfills my palm print addiction and love for Bardot necklines all in one floaty princess dress.
I love a good maxi dress. Not only are they so easy to wear – you barely have to think about getting dressed as you just pop on one item and you’re done! – they look like you’ve made a lot of effort without really making any effort. They’re flattering (hiding a multitude of sins – and summer BBQs!) and can be dressed up or down for any occasion. For beach days, add a pair of flip flops. For nights out, add a pair of heels. It’s super easy and when you’re working full time and blogging part time, that’s exactly the sort of thing you need!
This time, as the print was so bold I decided to accessorize with a pair of nude heels. This meant they wouldn’t distract from the print of the dress and also elongated the legs where the splits in the dresses reveals your pins. However, to add another pop of contrasting colour I added a pink bag from Pinko (appropriate). Pink and green should never be seen, unless you’re trying to make a statement – and that’s exactly what this outfit does. And I love it!
