We all love camel coats, yes? Here’s another one for ya; the belted camel coat. This one is by Quiz and is an affordable alternative to Zara’s best-selling wrap around one. Because it is so much cheaper, the material is naturally a lot cheaper too – which is fine, as now we’re into spring we only really need a coat to cover our shoulders and take the chill off. This belted camel coat has become the perfect spring-to-summertime solution for a lightweight cover up that talks the trends for chillier summer nights.
Let’s be honest, the camel coat could go with pretty much anything, but I personally love how it looks over tailored trousers. By opting for these chino style keks instead of my usual skinny jeans, it really helps to create a more flattering and tailored silhouette. London Fashion Week SS16 was all about layering, and I love this sophisticated, retro shape that these two items create together.
I also really enjoy the colour coordination in this outfit. The vertical stripes of this fitted Dorothy Perkins long line tunic perfect complement the shades of camel, black and white throughout the outfit. My Clarks moccasin style loafers also help to highlight the stripes and add some pattern into an otherwise plain outfit. The finishing touch is a pair of tortoise shell Ray Bans, which pull all the colours together. Ideal.
