Hey kittens! It’s Christmas Eve Eve – eek! How quickly has Christmas come along this year? I can’t believe it, seems like a year has just sped past me and left me in a midst of wardrobe changes, with dresses and accessories flying past… Anyway, I managed to grab onto a few of my favourite glitzy frocks in time to give y’all my latest Youtube video.
Last week, I published this Look Book video just in time for most of the Christmas parties in your life. In it, I show you 7 different ways to style 7 different dresses. When editing it, I felt a bit like that film, 27 Dresses, so decided to leave out the other 20 outfits I had to squeeze in…
So, read below for the low-down of the items used in my top Christmas party looks this year. I’ve laid it all out a little different this time, demonstrating which items I used and where they were from – let me know if you prefer things like this, especially for such a long post. Hopefully it will give you some inspiration if you’re running low on ideas of what to wear this festive season and New Year’s Eve.
Dress 2: Sequin Prom Dress
This is my favourite of all the looks in the video – this French Connection Spectacular Sparkle Dress is the epitome of the perfect party dress. Ever since attending their Sketch To Store event at the start of autumn, I’ve had my eye on this glitzy number and I am so thankful to finally have it in my hands; I wore it to my Christmas party at work and had SO many compliments on it! This is what I will be wearing on Christmas day, no question about it.
Dress 3: Sequin Body Con
Body Con dresses are a little out of my comfort zone, but I was happy to make an exception for this stunning Motel Rocks item. It feels like any time you see a gal in one of -those- iridescent sequin dresses, it’s almost guaranteed to be by Motel and this mermaid-esque coloured one does not disappoint. I paired it with some heavy accessories to make it more street-style than evening dinner, although it could be dressed for both.
Dress 4: Lace Prom Dress
Dress 5: Sequin Mini Dress
Not usually one for mini dresses, I couldn’t resist this sequined body con dress by USC/Republic. The gradient colours in it make it so festive and after wearing it for my birthday night out (and receiving loads of compliments on it) it’s sure to make an appearance again at New Year. I paired it with my new Vivienne Westwood handbag I won from a Trendy Vend giveaway – winning this was pretty much the best day of my life thus far. No shame! Thanks so much Trendy Vend.
Dress 6: Velvet Swing Dress
Swing dresses are the new skater dresses, I reckon. At least, in my wardrobe they are anyway. So flattering, they skim over any lumps and bumps (especially handy at Christmas time) and this AX Paris velvet number is a lovely festive texture. My ankle boots are so comfortable (and chic!) from Dolcis – they have a brand new website that they’re now stocking all their latest items on, so be sure to have a little peek on there.
Dress 7: Animal Print
Yep, another swing dress! This one is also from AX Paris, but this time via Simply Be. I’m really loving Simple Be this year – I never realised what a huge range of items and brands they sold, and for all sizes too. I’ve become a big fan! These super cute Melissa shoes are from Cloggs.co.uk – can also always count on them for a wide range of brands at affordable prices. I just added the faux fur headband again for a festive touch!
