Lookfantastic Black Friday Beauty Box

Rabbits, happy 1st December and start of Blogmas! Black Friday and Cyber Monday may have JUST passed us (only just – and let’s be honest, there’s a darn lot of offers still going on this ‘cyber week’ anyway!) but it still feels like the perfect time to share with you one of my favourite perks of this busy busy online shopping week.

This weekend, I got my mitts on the Lookfantastic Black Friday Beauty Box; a special selection of some of the Christmas present ideas available on Lookfantastic right now.

As it happens, I actually made an order with their incredible 20% Black Friday code anyway, but this Beauty Box has given me the perfect opportunity to try some samples of items I might not have considered as gifts before. So, let’s get stuck in.

The first item I was delighted to find in my #LFBlackFriday Beauty Box* was a Tangle Teezer Original Purple Crush; at £10.60 this is a real treat to be added into a monthly subscription box which usually costs £15 a time. As a gal with a very curly mane, detangling brushes are the only things I will ever use to brush through my hair when it’s wet, and up until now I’ve never indulged in the ‘official’ Tangle Teezer before. However, I can tell you I won’t be looking back. I love that such a decent product was included in a monthly subscription box, when usually boxes of this nature by other brands only include sample size skincare and cosmetics.

Speaking of which, I did totally expect to see some sample size cosmetics in the Lookfantastic Black Friday beauty box; samples are totally accepted to be part of a monthly subscription box. However I was especially delighted to see a mini tube of the GLAMGLOW Youth Mud Face Mask waiting for me, urging me to smudge it across my face. GLAMGLOW are a brand famous for their face masks and up until now I’ve never indulged in the full size (perhaps as it’s not cheap at £49.99 a pop), yet this gives me the perfect chance to try it out.

Another sample size product included in the box was this Amazing Concealer (no really, that’s it’s name!) in shade Medium Beige. This is a cosmetics brand that has taken America by storm and is well known across the bridal cosmetics industry. Sadly as I am pale as a ghost, this is a wee bit too dark for my casper face to give a proper road test too, but I am sure my sister is going to be very pleased to try this out for me. Don’t say I never give you anything, Poppy!

Ahhh, I can’t believe this next item that was included in the box! I am SUCH a huge fan of the Real Technique’s Complexion Sponge and so I was over the moon to see a new one hiding in here for me. Seriously, this little sponge is the PERFECT way to apply foundation. Since purchasing one last year I haven’t looked back, and, although mine is really too grubby to be using now, I’ve not been able to let go. Now I have a replacement, I’ve been able to let my well used, well loved beauty-blender-esque tool go, and enjoy a new lease of foundation-application life with this little baby!

Another brand I am already fan of is La Roche-Posay, although I’ve only tried a cleanser and toner from them before. Now is my chance to try the La Roche-Posay EFFACLAR K (+) (which is a serum/moisturiser type product that I like to use almost as a primer). This aims to reduce blackheads and injects the skin with vitamins aimed to reduce the effect of pollution. This full size product is usually £14.90 and so is a fantastic treat to be included in a beauty box (and if you fancy trying yourself, there’s currently 25% off it on Lookfantastic).

Finally, the icing on the cake (or box!) for me had to be the inclusion of two Eve Lom products. Having only tried Eve Lom samples before (and I mean sachet samples, not proper tubes or tubs) I have fallen in love with their skincare products. To find two different Eve Lom Cleansers (the Morning Time cleanser and the famous Eve Lom hot cloth cleanser) within this box almost made me run to the sink and scrub my make-up off immediately! Seriously, Eve Lom is the epitome of luxury and to be able to try out decent sized samples of these before forking out £55 on 100ml of the stuff definitely makes me feel a little better about seriously considering biting the bullet and buying the full size. Eeek!

As a beauty box, I was pleasantly surprised with all of the items included within the Lookfantastic #LFBlackFriday beauty box. Each item was of a reputable brand and high quality, including two cosmetics tools as well as samples of products. To have included full size items and samples of such luxury brands is above what I would expect of your ‘standard’ beauty box, and I am thoroughly impressed with my Lookfantastic treat… It’s not too late to do some more Cyber Week shopping, right?
