January is well and truly detox season. We all know it – whether we’re being told about the latest fad diet or being sent a million ‘join your local gym now’ special offer texts, you really can’t avoid the post-Christmas clear-out. Although I’m not one to choose celery over my chocolate, there is ONE type of detox I can indulge in; a beauty detox!
When my lookfantastic Beauty Box for January 2016 popped through my door (well, letterbox) I couldn’t help but get on board with the detox theme. And hey, if there’s any detox I’ll take part in, it’s a skincare one!
This month’s box includes over £50 worth of products – a bargain for only £15 – so let’s see what treats the lookfantastic Beauty Box for January 2016 has inside…
The first thing you see when you open the box is the lookfantastic box (which is presented so beautifuly, btw) is the #LFBEAUTYBOX magazine. This is a really lovely touch behind the box, as not only does it contain product info and prices for the full sizes products inside the box (just in case you fancy indulging in a new-found beauty love), but it also contains all sorts of other themed content. Of course, detox is the theme for January and my favourite article was packed full of yoga tips. I love how this makes the box more than just a box of products, but a little box of love!
Anyway, onto the products! The lookfantastic Beauty Box will always contain a minimum of six products, and the first two I pulled out this month were the Kebelo Silk Clarifying Shampoo and Kebelo Silk Conditioner. The full sizes of these items cost £13.95 and £14.95 retrospectively. Although I’ve not yet tried these yet, both have five star reviews of each on the lookfantastic website which makes me pretty excited to give them a go for myself.
The #LFBeautyBox contains a mixture of skincare, make-up and haircare, but in this month’s box there is only one item of make-up. It’s the Bellapierre cosmetics shimmer eyeshadow, which usually costs £12.99. I think it’s pretty snazzy that you get a full size make-up product in the box and although I wouldn’t usually pick up this shade myself, I’m excited to try something new. We all love a bit of sparkle, right?!
For when I’m finished playing with my new shimmer eyeshadow, I also have a really decent 50ml size sample of the Darphin Micellar Water. Again, this is a new brand to me – one of the reasons I am all for a monthly surprise beauty box – and as a huge fan of Micellar Water in general, I am so looking forward to taking my make-up off with this tonight.
lookfantastic couldn’t do a detox beauty box without including the Nuxe Nuxellence Idetox. If you’ve not heard of it before, Nuxe is a pretty darn posh brand and is all about the luxury in this overnight serum. A full size Nuxellence Idetox costs £48, so I am pleased I can try out this sample size before indulging in the real deal. Apparently this product contains 10 different patents to help anti-aging – I’ll report back in a month to see if I am looking 10 years younger!
The final product in the lookfantastic Beauty Box January 2016 is Lancer The Method Polish. The Method Polish from Lancer Skincare is a gentle skin-resurfacing treatment formulated to improve skin tone and texture. Dr Lancer, the guy who created this brand, is actually Kim Kardashian’s dermotologist… So what’s good for Kim K is definitely good for me! 120ml of this costs £60 so, again, I am delighted that I have a really decent sample size to get me going. I predict this will last me a month or longer. I’ll let you know!
