Lush Nails and Beauty Cheshire

On Monday evening I attended the glamorous relaunch of Lush Nails and Beauty Cheshire hosted by Ledigo PR. Based a short distance from Manchester city centre, Lush Nails and Beauty in Romiley is on a bustling little highstreet and super easy to find. Although I had never been before, it was dead easy to drive to with parking around the side and as soon as I arrived on Monday evening, I was welcomed as though I was a regular customer.

As I stepped into the salon, I was greeted with smiling faces and a glass of champagne (always my favourite start) and immediately felt welcomed. Although only a relatively small salon – one main room as you enter with a couple of other other treatment rooms on the ground floor – it was bustling! The event was to both celebrate business partners Francesca and Sophie owning the salon together, as well as saying a ‘thank you’ to their regular customers as a bit of a Christmas party. Francesca told me that they have a lot of loyal customers who come in every couple of weeks, so she wanted to reward them with a bit of a do!

Friendly staff: tick! The salon itself is decorated in the most beautiful way – there are glitter walls, gold pin-up style paintings on the walls and all the pink you could desire! It’s a girly haven and you could have been a million miles away from Manchester. It’s also spotlessly clean – which I always look out for – and smelt divine. Perhaps it was one of their Lily Flame scented candles they were selling; I would have bought one after how perfumed and fresh the building smelt!

As well as cleanliness, another top tip I recommend you look out for when considering a salon for regular visits, is the type of products they use. So often salons settle for the cheapest products, but I was secretly delighted to see that Lush Nails and Beauty were using all high quality and reputable brands. Note how they were using St Tropez and Bio Sculpture Gel. These are beauty brands which I have used before at top salons and although are more expensive, are worth every penny in terms of quality and longevity.

Speaking of Bio Sculpture Gel, I was lucky enough to be treated to a gel manicure. Francesca set to work on my nails as soon as I arrived and chatted me through the whole process. Making time for yourself is so important and a girl’s gotta get her nails did every so often. I was delighted to see that Francesca used Bio Sculpture Clear Gel as both the base coat and top coat, allowing me to pick out a colour inbetween. As you can see from the photo above, she has excellent attention to detail – look how neat my nails are! I can’t get over how shiny and perfectly shaped they are: short and square exactly to my taste, and yet they look so long as she went all the way down the nail bed. It’s been almost a week and they still look impeccable… I could get used to this!

Aside from nails, Lush also specialise in many other beauty treatments (pretty much any you could ever want) including HD Brows. Although some salons claim to perform ‘HD Brows’ but actually are not endorsed by the world famous eyebrow brand, you can be safe in knowing that Lush Nails and Beauty are. They even had their own make-up counter and representative from HD Brows who was lovely and friendly, and keen to chat me through all his favourite products.

There were a couple of other treatments on offer on the night, including live botox and fillers by a very brave volunteer! Although I’ve never had botox or fillers myself – and to be honest, I’m not 100% how I feel about them – I know this is in huge demand with the ladies of Cheshire and so can understand why Lush offer this in Romiley. The demo’s also attracted quite the crowd, with people joining the room and peering in through the doorway whilst sipping a glass of bubbly and a cupcake. Lovely!

Other treatment rooms homed some product displays and even a special appearance from famous hairdresser’s Ed’s Hair and Beauty from nearby Bramhall and Salford. The local hair styling team were giving customers a free hair-do, including working their magic on the ever friendly and ever-gorgeous celebrity radio presenter Chelsea Norris of Key 103. Isn’t she just blooming lovely with her neat little baby bump?

As well as Chelsea, there were a whole host of other local Manchester and Cheshire celebrities at the event, including X Factor and I’m a Celebrity Star Jake Quickenden with his beautiful girlfriend Daniel Fogarty, stunning Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring and the ever-glamorous Lauren Simon of The Real Housewives of Cheshire.

And, of course at it was a party, there were lots of little treats for all the party guests. As well as a variety of delicious cupcakes (always a winner), the champagne was flowing all night and there was a quirky little pick’n’mix stand. At the end of the evening, each guest left with a carefully thought out goodie bag, including nail polish and a nail file (of course, we all loved beauty!), some sweeties (all in keeping) and even some little gifts from Wahanda – a beauty salon site that you can book appointments at Lush through.
