The event was held at Castle Galleries on Deansgate, which was a fab location right in the city centre and so easy to find – good choice, MCRFW! It was also large enough to accomodate all the bloggers – which there were far more of than I expected – yet still small enough to keep the event quite intimate, which I liked. Castle Galleries is also handily doing an exhibition on fashion based paintings at the moment, which is very appropriate, isn’t it?
We were welcomed by the lovely Manchester Fashion Week team with champagne – of course, what other drink would do? – and gorgeous mini red velvet cupcakes, customised with MCRFW bloggers logos. I loved that! Such a sweet little touch that shows a lot of thought. We were also photographed by local photographer, Leemo Rante, who was a pleasure to meet and I look forward to seeing him out and about again soon!
Just as I arrived, we received a welcome speech from Head of Fashion, Kirsty Atwood – who is absolutely lovely and was a pleasure to finally meet properly. Kirsty joins MCRFW from NET-A-PORTER.COM and has a decade of experience working with luxury brands and high profile clientele around the world. Alongside making influential decisions about the teams sales strategies she was also responsible for the Studio Services department launched with the UK’s TV and film costume elite in mind at Selfridges London.
Of the event, Kirsty, said, “The inspiration behind MCRFW offers such a foundation to this companies structure it has huge potential to have an integral and impact-full contribution to the industry as a whole, over the next year I hope to build those relationships to not only establish the industries professionals based in the north but give a platform to new talent.”
Over all, it was absolutely lovely to meet all the other bloggers and talk about all things fashion, beauty and Manchester! As well as seeing some good friends there, it was a fab oppurtunity to meet some new faces and I have had fun checking out all their blogs, too! I can’t wait to see all the girls again!
