Matalan Monochrome Outfit

Matalan can do no wrong in my eyes. If you’ve been reading here for a while you’ll know that I love a good bargain and high street fashion stores just keep on getting better and better. For Autumn Winter 2015, Matalan are bringing out an accessible super affordable range of soft-touch jumpers* (pretty much wardrobe staples for the colder months). This weekend, they challenged me to style up one of my choice as part of a competition with some other beautiful blogger babes… Keep your eyes peeled on Matalan’s Facebook page on Monday to see the other entries!

I almost can’t believe that this whole outfit is from Matalan. I mean, I am a huge fan of the store and have had my Matalan loyalty card for many years, but I often think of Matalan as cheap and cheerful. And I mean, I guess this outfit still is (it’s definitely highly affordable!) but it’s so much more sophisticated than I would usually think. I mean, these monochrome floral trousers* are just perfect – they are flattering, excellent quality and just make me feel like a million dollars. I’m gonna let you in on a little secret though; these capri trousers weren’t a million dollars, they were only twenty!

Although it looks like a lot of effort went into this outfit, I shouldn’t probably admit it, but this was SO easy to throw together. The trousers do all the talking so a plain jumper is the perfect compliment to the outfit, with black and gold accessories to compliment the look. Also, can we just talk about this studded handbag* for a second? It’s very Michael Kors, definitely looks designer, but again, will only set you back twenty English pounds. Phwoar. I am sold!

I kinda think this is the perfect type of outfit for late summer evenings – it’s comfortable, dressy without being too much, and definitely gives you enough comfort for when it gets chilly without being too OTT. I’m gonna be wearing this outfit for a long time coming, I can see it now.
