More Reasons Why Nobody Is Buying Your Home

In the current economic climate, buyers are more likely to be slow observers. Real estate agents warn home sellers to be patient. It can take several weeks or even up to a month before people manifest their interest in the property.

In a previous article, we mentioned some of the most commonly overlooked reasons why nobody wants to buy your home. Your interior style is an expression of your personal tastes. The right decor tells your story. It makes your house feels homely and meaningful to you. Yet, we all have different stories. Your interior decor could make the house appear unappealing to potential buyers because it doesn’t reflect their own tastes. It’s no surprise that homes with neutral or m minimalist decors are more likely to sell! Sometimes, it pays off to remove personal items and give your walls a fresh coat of paint using neutral and non-invasive colours. It’s worth also checking the quality of your pictures. Blurry images can reduce your beautiful home to a pixelated mess.

Finally, safety concerns, such as a tree stump in the garden or uneven ground, can put off buyers who are worried about keeping their family safe.

But there are three more factors that can make buyers think twice about visiting the property.

Too much garden work

Nothing says hard work as much as a brown and sparse lawn. Buyers consider how much effort their dream home will be. If you’ve been neglecting your lawn recently, they’re more likely to assume that it’s an underlying issue rather than sprinkler repair needs. The expectation of additional work to create a friendly space can be off-putting. So, if you’ve got simple issues that can be resolved quickly in the garden, do make sure to see to those. A green and lush lawn is the best advertising for your property!

They don’t like the neighbours

Bad neighbours can affect your chances to sell your house, even though you are not legally obliged to inform potential buyers. According to the law, you do not need to disclose any dispute unless it affects the land or the house maintenance. Unfortunately, a lot of potential buyers can pick up on bad neighbours when they visit the property. For instance, they can feel unwelcome as they drive to your home, or they can notice messy gardens in the neighbourhood.

New estates or roads works

Last but not least, buyers tend to consider a quiet and peaceful area for their new homes. Many change their opinion about a property after they find out about local road or infrastructure works. They are worried that the area will be stressful as a result of noise and constant construction traffic. Similarly, the dream of a quiet estate can disappear in an instant as buyers discover that the council is building further estates in the same areas. They don’t want noise, traffic, or stress, and construction projects fall unfortunately right in this category.

Finding the right buyer for your property is a walk in the park. Yet, sometimes, if you want to want the right buyer, you need to make sure you’re selling the best possible dream home. It pays off to address issues or wait a little until some events have calmed down.
