Hey, kittens!
This blog post comes to you from your kitten momma as a guest blog piece for MissBehaver. They’ve kindly let me get my paws on their blog and write a VIB (Very Important Blogger) guest piece every week until Christmas!
Hope y’all had a wonderful weekend and are starting to get a little bit merry! Yesterday the Christmas Markets opened in Manchester and so when I went to visit today, I wanted to wear something a little more festive to get in the spirit and also champion the local community. I absolutely love the mix of colours, metallics and textures in this outfit. I call it (kinda appropriately, dontcha think?) Black & Gold.
Although this amazing charity shop find, my jumper, is a pretty big statement piece, these amazing gold jeans from MissBehaver are the main event in this outfit. Not only are they pretty unique (which y’all know I look out for in garments), they’re also amazingly on trend for the baroque trend this Winter 2012. We all watched in awe as D&G epitomised the baroque pattern in their Aumtumn/Winter ’12 collection and now I’ve got my little paws on these metallic imitations, which are a complete bargain at £22.99. The gold colour will also tide me over the party season as a festive piece as well – purrrfect!
Although the more subtle (or sane) kittens amongst us may have chosen to pair these statement jeans with a simple black vest top, I went the whole hog (or, err, cat) with this amazingly detailed knitwear. It was another bargain from a local charity shop – just goes to show that you have to look in all the right places for expensive looking items at a fraction of the price. I also love that this is a local find, as it makes the whole look a little more personal. Did I mention that MissBehaver are also a local brand? Hailing from Bolton, they’re only a couple of miles away from my lair. These very apt black and gold earrings are also from a Manchester based company, Jon Richard and couldn’t fit in better with my theme. Yall know I love a good Mancunion!
Now, I know I had to tone down the accessories a little as even for me this look could easily go a bit too OTT, so I finished it off with a pair of chic yet totally wearable chelsea boots and a simple double-finger ring. I think they completed the colour theme nicely without taking away from these beautiful jeans!
What do you little kitty cats think? Too black? Too gold? Or just an unusual way to get into the festive spirit? Please get in touch and let me know – I’d love to hear from you!
