Hey kittens, welcome to this week’s second Outfit of the Day video post – phew, don’t half treat you, do I?
So, as y’all can see in the video, I was inspired by this beautiful Madam Rage dress to take on a quintissential “English Rose” (I use the term lightly, might I add!) look and make the most of a springtime garden scene.
As ever, my Madam Rage dress is of stunning quality and is in an absolutely adorable print. I really think Madam Rage are hard to beat for cute, vintage-style dresses with a modern take and in Spring they really come into their own! I’m also pleased to say that Madam Rage have started using my videos on their website too – check out the product description of this particular dress to see my face appear on their site for a second time.
To add to the cutesy retro look, I added white tights and spats style brogues, both of which were a bargain a couple of years ago from Primark and have lasted me well. The woven summer hat also really helps to create a Ye Olde England vibe, which I think suits springtime really well and is a character I like to play up to on a warm spring time day. Details such as this deer broach really help to create an authentic(ish) look.
The finishing touch comes in the form of my ever practical Office satchel from Brit Stitch. I swear I’ve been wearing my Brit Stitch satchels far too often recently (check out my collection blog post here), but you really can’t find another bag that adds an instand vintage feel like these do. This one is in the colour Rust and really goes with any outfit, especially this one where I wanted to keep all the colours very neutral and earthy. I find with vintage style outfits, wearing toned down colours really helps to create a realistic retro look and tan browns really add to this.
Right kitty cats, whaddya think? Do you like vintage style or prefer a modern take? Leave me a comment below and let me know! And don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, like my Facebook page and subscribe to my Youtube channel to keep up to date with all things fashion!
