Hey kittens, hope you’re all having a fab week so far. Wow, didn’t things get crazy last week? Vogue’s Fashion Night Out was a huge success and I was up, down, round the corner and all over the shop (quite literally). It was pretty hectic and having upped the pace of my VOGUE #FNO Manchester blog series to every day last week, I think it’s time to take it back to basics with a good old fashioned (vintage – old fashioned, geddit?!) blog post.
So, back to the dress; it just makes me feel like a princess. I know a lot of girls had long frocks for proms or leaver’s balls, but for some reason I always missed that boat (or horse-drawn carriage). However, this gorgeous Lucia Maxi from Gorgeous Couture has given me my little Cinderella moment at last! Retailing at £250, it’s not cheap, but now reduced to £169, I would definitely say it’s worth what you pay. The quality is just amazing – it fits like a glove and the shape is just so flattering. Bellowed sleeves, thigh split and deep V-neck… its love! This dress really is the things that old Hollywood screen sirens were made of.
To complete the look, I slipped into my peep-toe heels from Ravel. I know, I know – who do I think I am in that picture?! I swear I’m not trying to do the legendary Angelina Jolie leg-dress-pose but it’s hard to resist when wearing a thigh-high split dress and such beautiful heels. These shoes are also the ideal 1940’s film star fit; a peep toe, gold detail, ankle strap and just the right amount of chunky heel. Classic, subtle and show business, darrhling!
