Morning kittens, how have y’all been? I’ve been so busy keeping you up to date with London Fashion Week and VOGUE’s Fashion Night Out that I’ve not had much time to bring you an Outfit of the Day post in a while – sob! However, I’m bursting back onto the scene with a canary yellow number which is bound to brighten up your rainy day.
I’ve gotta admit it, this dress might be a little adventurous for the dark Autumn days looming in, but heck, we need a little colour to shed some light on the downpours in Manchester. And, what better colour than the shade of this OASAP dress to add some sunshine to our lives! I absolutely adore this dress and am already excited to style it with tights, T-bar shoes and a faux fur coat. The collar and sleeve pearl details are a sweet retro touch and the shift shape is very 1960’s. (For more of my vintage Outfit of the Day’s check out the rest of my posts here.)
Whilst I could have easily paired this dress with a pair of white heels for a classic 1960’s look, I wanted to modernise it and add a cutesy element to it. Therefore, I chose to pop on my white Converse from Cloggs to make the outfit a little “younger” looking – the frilly socks really help to do this as well! I know white converse have been on trend for, like, ever but these are my first pair. Can you believe it? I’m not sure why I held off for so long – they really do go with everything and are SO comfortable.
Finally, I added this big bow headband I picked up in the sale from Dorothy Perkins to complete the look. I wore it under my hairline to add to the retro look and of course, the white continues my bright and light theme. I didn’t wear any jewellery in this look as the high neckline and long sleeves make it a bit unnecessary, although an oversized ring might have looked cute if I were to wear this look again.
What do you reckon of this modern 1960’s look, kittens? Leave me a comment below and let me know! And don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, like my Facebook page and subscribe to my Youtube channel to keep up to date with all things fashion!
