Hey kittens, today’s outfit of the day is something a whole lot different for me! In fact, it’s not really that weather appropriate at all, but after having a lovely Spring (or winter) Clean, I thought it was about time to have a fresh approach to my wardrobe, too, which is why I’ve decided to have my own take on one of 2014’s hottest trends: Sports Luxe – minus the coat!
It’s no secret that baseball tops have been all over the high street this year, so after a little hesitation, I decided to have a go at my own take on this by choosing the most formal of the bunch – a black, American style silk baseball/American Football top from rising designer, Brookhaven. Although definitely not my usual style, I kinda like the lose fit of this boyfriend style top, especially when paired with these figure hugging, drainpipe-esque acid wash jegging also from Brookhaven at JD Sports. (I never thought the day would come when I would be wearing clothes from JD Sports… I guess miracles really do happen!)
However, to inject a bit of my own personal style back into the look, I had to pair it with these stunning formal heels from Peacocks. The open toe and gold chain detail is just so “now”, I’m obsessed. Plus, as a lover of gold hardware, they go perfectly with my gold chain messenger bag from Marc B and my chain jewellery. Both of these accessories would also go down well with an LBD for a Christmas party – bonus!
